I recently discovered a blog entitled RFU Championship Ė An Inside View
. It's written by a Nottingham fan and is a essentially a personal insight into the Championship and what it's like to support a team in the league.
The latest blog
is about rugby grounds in the league, how they compare to the Premiership and how it can be a much better experience to visit the likes of Doncaster than London Irish.
Anyway, in this latest blog post, the Mem is referred to as 'horrible plastic stadia with about as much charm as a dead slug'!
Obviously this is just one person's opinion and I am sure it is not a dig at Bristol Rugby in general. But it's interesting that someone has that opinion of the ground (not Stadium). I always considered the Mem to be a great rugby ground - good atmosphere, fans close to the pitch, decent bars (how can the Clubhouse be referred to as part of a 'plastic stadia', a term I'd reserve for the likes of the Madesjki?).
So, yes. There we go. Someone's opinion differs to mine so I felt the need to write about it on a website. Discuss.
