I think it was as much good Welsh defence and attack as much as Scotland inaccuracies to be honest

Poor cheats, surely?

I don't know what was on UK telly, but in France you could get the whole conversation between the ref and everyone else. He made the French doctor says 'this is an HIA.' Hope that bloke's feeling a total fraud.

Wales v Scotland.

Fine lines divide teams. Many Welsh fans prior to game concerned at all the injured leading to a weaker team. Amazing how the first try changed everything.

Scotland looked promising for ten minutes or so and then an intercepted pass for the first try to Wales. From then on Scotland looked shattered by it and Wales went up two or three notches to dominate.

I'm pleased with performance, result and looking forward to a full days action next Saturday with City, Wales against those English and Bris sorting out the pretenders in the evening. Just wish I could be at all three.

I'd predicted Wales to win by 33-30 so nearly got them spot on. When you think how excellent Scarlets are then provided Gatland allowed them to play like Scarlets they were always going to be impressive.. But I thought Scotland would be more effective at breaking down the Welsh defence. The Scots missed Dunbar in centre and the Jones Harris combo didn't work.

What people forget every year is how badly Wales normally play in the autumn series. I think the last time they won a Grand Slam they lost all of their autumn matches.

Wales look the best side ball in hand so far, England were the most calculated and came with a clear plan. Not sure what to make of the France/Ireland game; I did manage to fall asleep in the second half for five minutes.

Any news on the HIA/cheating stuff? I find it embarrassing to the sport.

It's hard to know exactly what to make of the opening round of games. France v Ireland was tedious for 65 minutes and neither side impressed. Expect Ireland to be better, and probably France too. Wales looked sharp but how sharp is difficult to assess due to how awful Scotland were. They will surely be better, not least because they could hardly be worse. Wales won by a margin without really having to do too much. Wales will be encouraged by their performance. England were efficient and not a little skillful. As before we have seen how strongly they finish games. Italy were as good as we've seen them for a good while. They set England a sterner test than Scotland did Wales. Looking forward to next week's game at Twickenham.

French HIAs being investigated by the Six Nations.

My first impression was that the player looked concussed when he was first on the floor, he had that vacant look on his face but there again he is French, and they have previous.

On HIAs it's abused in the Prem several times someone has gone off for a HIA holding their arm or knee however the match doctors are the experts and how can we not trust the doctors? maybe it was that the French fly halfs brains were in his knee?

A certain Tommaso Bienvenuti formerly of this parish scored against England on sunday. His second try in two tests.
