How we continue

Our selection policy from now on will be interesting.

In his latest interview PL says nothing changes, then he adds there's a few sore bodies from last week, so I'm expecting more changes in team selection than usual this week.

Whether guys like Tovey and Sheedy will get a game or two and the same with the forwards, Fenton Wells and co., all with next season's demands in mind. There may even be a couple more loanings out.

Also it will be worth watching the Eelfinders and their morale, they've got Jersey away this week (and its wet and windy) so that's not an easy trip either and Jersey will be boosted by their news of ground security etc.so they'll be up for it too.

I suppose in many ways nothing does change, going into each match well prepared and ready to win. This is how the club continues

I suppose now the big change is the coaching set up, glad Mark Irish is working on scrums because it is something that drastically needs improving.

A good time to recall Hurrell perhaps if we are looking to rest a few players. Especially since he seems to have added offloads to his game.

To my mind we don’t start resting players now.
Pat said it: it’s not our goal to beat Ealing, our goal is to be promoted.
Until that’s achieved, we shouldn’t be resting key players for any league game, in my opinion.
Thought the midfield of Pisi & Piutau went well against Ealing: Hurrell still has a lot to work on, I reckon.

B@th board very impressed with him, some arguing he was a MoM candidate against Northampton. Seem keen to sign him. They are Prem top 4 candidates so I think he cld do a job in championship.

I'm not in favour of resting players for the sake of giving others a run out just yet, but if we have players that are sore or carrying knocks and could do with a week off, then we shouldn't risk them in the same way we would if each game was an absolute must-win

Any rotation needs to be managed, we've seen the disaster that happens when too many players are changed. Squad player need to get their chance in a first team not a renamed United like the BIC.

Have to say I'd love to see Luatua given a month/an extra month off to go back to NZ/Pacific/wherever and chill and rest his body and mind in prep for next season. He came straight to us from an long SH season. Whether that is now or at end of season I don't know (prob the latter for a number of reasons)

Pretty sure he has already had that rest/holiday during January

As others have said, I doubt we'll see too much rotation until we are officially 'up' - that is the goal of this season. Also, if we factor in the various 'breaks' over the coming weeks (we don't have games every week due to BIC and weekends off) players will get plenty of rest. I think we'll see a strong side against Scottish then have a week off before we face Jersey at home on the 4th March...
C'MON Bris!!

If we can possibly spare them, I’d like to see Luatua, Mags and Morahan spend a few on loan with a premiership club, playing so far below their natural level does them no good in my opinion.

Also tempered by who you want to bring in? Perkins and Bedlow already on loan. Batley, Latta, Cosgrove and Dawe worth the gametime but don't see why we would play Wallace, Nemsadze etc when they won't be here next year. Capon, Powell and a few of the academy guys would be nice to see by the end of season though.

Is Nemsadze off next year?

The amount of games he has played you would think he is already gone

Well his contract is up so I'd say it's a certainty.

There might be one or two guys that need managing. Harris-Wright did the full 80 against Ealing (I'm not sure NFW was fully fit) and so did Rhodri. I still expect them to start against Scottish as part of our strongest team though.

We haven't achieved our goal yet, which is Promotion. I say our strongest team every game, I would like us to go all season unbeaten. The players will have plenty of time off when the season ends.

Literally everything that comes out from current players on this subject is that the season is too long....or to flip it, that they absolutely DON’T have plenty of time off when the season ends

The thought of a 100% league legacy must be tempting to PL . The team will be so different next season and PL will now know who he wishes to retain.

Was that a real break or, as I remember it, an injury break? Even so not long as we need him totally rested for next season. He's a key player for us
