After a trial with Bristol Alex has signed a professional contract.

Anybody know anything about him?

Thought he did well in the pre-season games that he played in. Fair play to him!

A great initiative from the club to give opportunities to combination players. I just hope that where, as in Alex's case, the club offer professional terms, that their originating club is recognised/compensated in some way for the loss of one of their best players. Want to see this as working in partnership with the combination clubs, not destabilising any of them

Every combination club should be honoured when one of its players gets to represent Bristol.Thats how its always been, even after the leagues were introduced. No compensation is required in my view. Also, remember its a two way street, most Bristol colts etc don't make the grade so often end up in the combination, having benefitted from top training.
