Looks like Cardiff want him back on loan and also in the long term;

Maybe, but the BBC are hardly reliable. They appear often to make much of non-stories entirely in the interests of the Welsh regions.

Welcome back Olly.

He'd be wasted in the pro14, and stupid to go to cardiff to be warburtons understudy.

BBC says we recalled him rather than his loan period finishing for Cardiff.
I wonder why with just a pretty pointless b and I cup match Friday
As we have lam and Thomas who can play 7 does that mean latua injury mean we are short?

With crane, lam, Thomas, Jefferies and haining it would seem no obvious reason for a late recal.

Another story saying they're trying to sign him for next season. Wonder if he'll be playing for his Dad again?

He's a great player as we know so it's no surprise they want to keep him. Would be good to see OR get a run of games under Lam's systems alongside Luatua and co. Also interesting to see what he's learned from Cardiff.

As he clearly says in his interview he is settled and happy at Bristol so hopefully he won't be going anywhere. That said if they offer him silly money to replace an aging Warbs why wouldn't you? It's only a small trip along the road.

Spot on thing to do by PL. why would you risk league players such as Thomas, Lam, Jeffries and Crane for a pointless cup game?
Hopefully OR can play a blinder and give Pat a huge selection headache for Pirates towards the end of the month. He's in form and raring to go. Good decision start to finish with Ollie IMO.

Having been away for a good while he will need to do some catching up. Do we keep him?? Yea I hope so he’s been a good servant and deserves a chance to shine.

Bristol, like the glass is Blue, Bristol Blue.

Thing is he'll be back up to Ellis Jenkins there regardless of Warbs (who in sure will play at to level for at least the next 2 years - just seldom for Cardiff Blues.....)

Sounds like the BBC and Wales Online putting two and two together and making ten.

Why would Danny Wilson be interested in signing Olly for next season, if he's not even going to be there himself? An 'ongoing conversation' could mean anything.

Anyway, I really like Olly as a player, leader and person - so I hope he stays with us.

Olly has been putting in some really good performances over the bridge so straight away provides some very stiff competition for Dan Thomas.

If I were Pat Lam, I would definitely be giving him a run out over the next few weeks to bed back in again.

Supporting Bristol since... since... Oh, not enough fingers.

He been solid over there, but not exceptional, some of the reports I've seen have been over hyped compared with the games I've seen on TV. That is probably how I would rate his career with us. I would be happy to keep him, but would only see him as a squad player in the standards Pat is setting for the squad, in reality I would struggle to see him getting much game time other than bench/injury cover unless he improves. I think his best games for us were when he was playing angry after his dad was sacked, but that motivation is limited.

More to the point, Welsh rugby journalists think he's as good as gone to Cardiff

Agree that it would be stupid for the Blues to allow Wilson to make decisions on next year’s squad, when he won’t be involved. The don’t have the budget spare to sign players who may or may not fit in with what new coach wants.

Olly Robinson has agreed terms to switch to Cardiff Blues for the 2018/19 campaign.
The back rower - who joined the PRO14 outfit on loan in September - will depart Bristol following four seasons with the club.
“Olly has been a positive ambassador throughout his time with Bristol Rugby - we’re pleased for him that he has secured a long-term contract with Cardiff from next season,” said head coach Pat Lam.
“It’s important for guys to be playing regularly and Olly has that opportunity at the Blues, a place where he has done well during his loan spell.” Robinson has made 56 appearances for Bristol Rugby, scoring 31 tries.
He added: “I’m very proud to have played for and captained Bristol – the city I was born in – in the top flight.
“I’m excited about the challenge that awaits at Cardiff next season. It’s a club and competition that I have enjoyed during my loan spell.”

Damn!

Welsh journalist correct then.

So, who is coming to Bristol then, to compete in the back row? Someone or no one?

PS disappointed to see Olly Robinson leaving. Good luck at Cardiff.
