Good shout I think. Both aren't getting any game time at the minute so it'll give them a chance to work on some things to bring back to the squad next season.

Supporting Bristol since... since... Oh, not enough fingers.

Hurrell starts at 13 tomorrow for Bath. And Philips too, at 8.

Anything to help, eh; just give us a call if you need more assistance.

Soon to be our feeder/development club.

In all seriousness I am concerned about the rumoured unrest at them down the road and concerned about sending Will into a toxic environment. Phillips is off to Sale as well if rumours are to be believed. Shame we didn't retain him as we are lacking that kind of power at the moment. Imagine how much he could do hitting the space we create at pace from 8 or similar.

Yep, far too one-dimensional for us...this season.
Just wait til next season when we actually see how Pat will want us to play.

How did we get here? Ok, I know about him having a few at a home game he wasn't playing in, but really.

Last season, people like Will Greenwood were saying he should be in the England squad. Twelve months later, he's not in our Championship team and gets put out on loan to an AP team, where he seems to be playing well. All very odd.

Sounds like Ryan Edwards has played well too.

Hurrell is no where near international quality until he is demonstrates that he's capable of passing out of the tackle. I don't think anyone has seen that whilst he's been in a Bris shirt, which leaves him as a very one-dimensional direct runner.

Well Greenwood knew a thing or two about what makes an effective centre and that's what he said.

My fear is that our prescriptive style of play doesn't get the best out of players who aren't a perfect fit. That must make sustained success harder to achieve. Time will tell, I guess.

Don't think you'll find anywhere Greenwood saying he should be in the England squad. He said that he was Journeyman player who'd stuck at the task of getting into top flight rugby and gave his all week-in-week-out and the sort of player any team would want (apparently not Bristol at the moment) turning out for them. I believe he'd also said that he was a honest to goodness type of player whose style was to take route one - which as many have alluded to on here does not fit well in the current Lam game plan.

According to BBC Hurrell making his premiership debut this week, which is nice for him, having never played in the premiership before with any other team...

I know I’m a fan but think he’s having a good game
Always a solid defensive threat and straight line attacking too hands through the tackle and offloading
Would be one of the first names on my team sheet

Dunno what the guy has to do to play for us

Maybe next year....

He's contributed well, looks completely at ease at this level.

Reading the buns comments on their board, it sounds as if Will played his natural game of making ground in attack and defending well.
He can be used like a good no 8 sometimes I do hope we don’t try to re-shape him too much - just to off load is all he needs to add to his game
