Checking for some info on Jake I found this. Interesting that he says 'Being born in Bristol to a Welsh father and Italian mum ' as he clearly has an Italian name. There's a fair sized italian-root community in Wales and so I presume his Dad was Welsh but with Italian heritage. Great TV programme recently on the Welsh Italians actually and most families herald from just one tiny part of Italy. Loved watching Pete P play

Iím sure his parentsí generation were Bristolian. My wife went to school with a Polledri and so I assume their parents also lived locally.

A lot of Italians came over to live in England before world war 1 during the war they were all rounded up and interned just outside Abertillery .

On this TV programme I mentioned it basically said almost all Welsh-Italians are in Wales because their great grandparents or whoever came over from these few villages due to lack of work there and the opportunities to work in coal and steel in Wales or, as many did, open a cafe &/or ice cream parlor. The first ones to come liked it and told relatives and friends 'back home' so many followed. The ex Wales (& briefly Briz) forward Robert Sidoli hails from one of those families
