Relieved to see Gaston starting.

Hope we can keep Cortes and Bevington on the pitch as long as possible. But happy with the starting Xv given injuries

Oh my goodness, I don't think I have ever been so happy to see anyone's name on a teamsheet as much as I am to see Gaston's name on a team sheet in my entire life.

Great to see Gaston back. Hope he's fully fit and able to last 55-60 minutes. I think that's as good a pack as we could pick at the moment - and plenty of pace and power in the backs.

Would have liked to have seen Batley add some bulk in the second row personally but good team none the less.

Supporters first choice front row I think

Agree that this is probably our best team (as available)

The Sheedy mystery continues - he’s not listed as injured

Which are those two Ealing players we are allegedly bringing in for next season?

Lewis Thiede and Piers O'Conor, I believe.

After the first game at the Gate, surprised to see Will Davis on the bench for Ealing. Also assuming that Lydon is injured?

I feel a bit better having seen that starting front row. If it can hold it's own on our own ball then that'll do for me

Cheers Rob. So is that why neither are in their match day squad or are they injured?

Thiede starts at tighthead for them; as regards O'Conor, I have no idea. Let's say that having Tom Tainton running communications has perhaps spoiled us with regard to what we can expect from other clubs in that aspect!

As noted upthread, Luke Daniels is also rumoured to be on our radar: he starts at 15.
