Ok so whatever happened to the idea of testimonial matches for long serving players? Has professionalism killed them off. Am I correct in thinking the last one Bristol had was for Regan or Sambu??

Did we have them before the game went pro? I can't remember any. In amateur days I don't think the club could have organised such a match and any player taking the money would have been banned from playing again or coaching etc.

Only one I went to was the Robert Jones one and despite big names it was a poor attendance and the game was little more than touch rugby which made it not good entertainment. The only player really tackling hard was David Corkery and I don't think it was appreciated by the other players. Oh and Robert Jones was injured and couldn't play.

Be nice to give presentation at a match though
