From the Bristol Post

Quote:
The trio's current club Ealing Trailfinders, who sit second in the Greene King IPA Championship behind Bristol, confirmed their departure to the blue and white hoops today.

Does that mean their departure is today or the confirmation is today?

OK - end of season.

Does that mean those three players will be doing their best to prevent Bristol's promotion?

Yeah, seems a bit odd that. Go easy for the rest of the season then!

When I wrote that I didn't know they had broken an embargo.

My statement stands regarding the content though

Disappointing.

Yes, we might have some gems but I don't think all will be and it's a very weak championship this year.

Of the ones I've seen, the Props and Pincus look solid and consistent to me.

Pincus looked fast and alert at The Gate last weekend.

just having a look at the ages of those signed:

Linsay - 30
Pincus - 25
Armstrong - 23
Woolmore 27
Thiede - 26
O'Connor - 22
Daniels - 26

Generally a good demographic imo. Would have been nice if a few had made the switch now to give them a chance to get familiar with PLs style.

I've definitely seen weaker and poorer quality championships. Ealing are a decent outfit (admittedly they are no Worcester or Exeter) but they have pushed us all the way and have a tremendous forward pack – of which we now have signed 3. Of the remaining teams, I think the standard is similar to previous seasons.

These are players that will most definitely strengthen the areas in we have been weak this year. I welcome them and hopefully they will make the step up next season.

C'mon Bris!

Hopefully this will strengthen our depth, and as said above, it goes some way towards addressing concerns in some areas that we've all noted this season.

What does concern me is who else is leaving. For example, I make it that, with today's influx, we now have 6 contracted tighthead props (7 if you count James Lay), some of whom have contracts expiring at season's end.
