It was only a matter of time before he got a gig in the top tier....I had wondered whether we would go for him, seeing as (a) he presided over us being torn apart twice this season, and (b) it would provide continuity for for Ealing forwards we have brought in

A real shame for Ealing this, but he'd be mad to pass up the chance to work with a prem club

Er...when were we torn apart twice by Ealing last season?

We had two bonus point wins against Ealing and they got just one losing bonus point. Our home win was a comfortable 32-23 which doesn't look much like being torn apart to me. And we may have won by just a single point at their place but we still got four tries in poor conditions and even though they got a try with five minutes to go to bring them to within a point the rest of the game was played in their half. I was there for that game and, although we never ran away from them, I always felt we were going to win. I may not be as keen on our coaching regime as some on here but I'm also not keen on saying a side tore us apart twice when, in fact. they lost to us home and away without getting a try-scoring bonus point.

I was referring to the forwards. From memory, their were 8 or 9 scrum penalties (inc a yellow card) in their favour during the home game, and their pack was similarly dominant in the away game.

Either way, i am surprised you remember the home 32-23 win as being 'comfortable'....we must have been watching different games that day.

We were behind with 4 minutes to go, and it was only Protheroe creating something-from-nothing that won it for us.

But virtually every pack stuffed us last season! Not just Ealing.

We've also got pretty much an entirely new set of forwards this year. Honestly think the two lads from Jersey will prove to be very astute additions.
