Pretty grainy screengrabs from the full game on Prem Rugby's website...not much to be argued with for GS's red card, unfortunately.

George 1
George 2

Added a few of Big Willie Skelton's shot on Will Hurrell too...if you watch the clip in real time (about 51 minutes in) he goes in and clears, then resets and hits Hurrell again clear in the face with his upper arm/shoulder. Will be shocked if the citing commissioner doesn't pick it up as it is clear and obvious.

Big Willie Shot 1
Big Willie Shot 2
Big Willie Shot 3

Thanks for the Will thing, looked really obvious at the time too so not sure why it wasn't picked up.

Basteraud recently got a straight red and is facing a ban for the same thing.

There's a boat load of ex-Bris players on the panel - Mark Regan, John Doubleday, Olly Kohn, Mike Rafter. I pray for a bit of compassion!!

Will be classed as a low end dangerous tackle, so 2 weeks (but maybe -50% as first red in England, so may only miss the Gloucester game)
9.13 A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders.
Low-end: 2 weeks
Mid-range: 6 weeks
Top-end: 10+ weeks
Max: 52 weeks

Unfortunately this isn't quite right as they have recently added the caveat that a tackle with significant contact to the head is an automatic mid range offence. On that basis, I'd expect 6 weeks - 50% mitigation so 3 weeks.

either way couldn't argue with decision as long as all teams are treated fairly, thought the ref was slightly favouring the home team myself on some of the small 50/50s my main concern is that we are not getting BPs what do BPs make , a better chance ofstaying up, watching a few games live this week thought our current position is where we will finish. Sale & Worcester look awful

We have played 2 won 1 and lost 1, not many teams will get bonus points out of saracens

While accepting that the performance was good, that the red card shown to Smith affected the last 30 minutes of the game, that attitude shown by the players was excellent and the effort laudable, we should not lose sight of the fact that we got nothing from the game. That might be forgivable against Saracens but it must not become a habit. A bonus point from every game would go a long way to survival, add in a few wins and we will be comfortable with games to spare. That would be a great position to be in. We don't want to be impressive but pointless any more.

Peter D i second that. The only consolation would be if this spurs performances on even moreso in coming weeks but even then, we definitely lost more than we gained against sarries and a bonus point would have gone some way to softening the blow of the red card

Apparently charge dismissed and free to play immediately! I didnít think it warranted a red card, and damn well cost us a point/s.
