So now Prem clubs seem to be about to install rail seating, can we see the promise made when Bristol moved to Ashton Gate be realised that we would have standing areas be realised?

The original design was that rail seating would be installed in the entire lower Dolman and along the back of the South Stand. Previously the position was that rail seats "aren't classed as seats" for football, but this position has clearly now changed.

This was one of the biggest attractions for me at The Memorial Stadium/Ground. I am sure standing would attract a lot of potential supporters who have been put off by the all seat arrangement.

With rail seating you still get allocated a seat with your ticket, this is to control numbers in that area of the ground.

I couldn't stand for 2 hours. Had to do it at the Wreck once, never again.

I would be really surprised if the ability to stand is a deal-breaker for a significant untapped market.

Sure, there will be a number of people who would PREFER to stand...but I bet the majority of those either already come to games anyway, or if they don't, still wouldn't come if standing was available.

Agree with this.
