Does seem a bit odd that Walkinshaw stopped Redpath re-signing Tindall for Glaws, and now Redpath wanted to sign him at Sale he threw bags of cash at him to keep him on
Not sure where that version of events comes from, but it's somewhat offbeam!
It comes from a local Gloucestershire paper that reported that Brush wanted to re sign Tindall that I read in Cheltenham...
Yes, but once again it's only half the story.
BR did want to re sign Tindall and that's exactly why Gloucester offered him a 1 year contract when BR was still here. Tindall turned it down because he was after a 2 year deal and pursuing other options to this end. They failed to materialise.
Nigel Davies sees a role for him moving forward and has given him a 1 year deal as a player coach. For the time being though, ND will be doing most of the backs coaching whilst Tindall learns the role.
There's no question of Glaws paying above the odds to keep him. Glaws have plenty of centres (Trinder, Twelvetrees, Molenaar, May, Mills and Locke), although, until Tindalls signing, possibly a lack of experience. However, we do have other positions that need shoring up and they would be the priority for any additional spending. It's likely that Tinds has had to settle for rather less than he was hoping for 5 months ago.
