According to reports from some visitors to Salford matches, the stadium car park is kept closed until after the pedestrians have left.
Will this be the case for Sale games as well? My friend has paid for a space at the stadium but if this is to be the case then it sounds as though walking to one of the other parking options could be a better call.
Speaking as a public transport user but occasional motorist ...
It makes sense to me to close the car p[arks after a game, partly for safety reasons but mainly because if a public transport user is delayed by, say,15 minutes before being able to leave there is a very real possibility that at that time of night last connections home would be missed.
If a car driver leaves 15 minutes late, then they are unlikely to be inconvenienced by being more than a few minutes lat arriving home.
Yes, I know there are exceptions to that generalisation (such as passengers who may be given lifts to catch trains, buses, etc) but by and large it holds true.
Don't forget that Barton is currently a public transport desert with the concept of "late running" buses being an alien concept to GMPTE/TfGM (or whatever they are called this afternoon and whose planners must all be tucked up home and in bed by 8:30pm with their steaming hot mugs of cocoa) generally, and specifically to Barton!
But given a choice between you being 15 minutes later home by car and me having to dodge inconsiderate motorists on the car park approach roads and then catch a very expensive taxi because I've missed the last bus home then I know where my vote would be cast!
No matter what you say, or how you say it, someone somewhere will deliberately go out of their way to be offended.
