The only people I talk to about Sale are on here.
It's funny, I've had a few run ins on here with supporters and people who work for the club alike, some quite nasty in private. However if they saw the work I do "behind closed doors" in trying to promote this club, they'd give me a bloody medal!
Saying that, my mate's coming to Fylde with me on Saturday. He's even driving. Said I'd pay him in. Seems a fair swap, a fiver ticket for a 50 mile lift.
I think there were a few on here who went for that stand but most seem to be the South Stand.
Which makes me think that would be a good name for this board. "South Standers" - other teams seem to have a name or a nickname when you enter their board. I appreciate not everyone's going in there but it's the majority and we're talking about making it a fortress for visiting teams.
Nothing annoys me more than watching a Gloucester game on the tele and hearing the commentators saying "The Shed won't like that one" when that one stand covers about 1/3 of the capacity. I know what they're getting at though.
Most of the talk about who was sitting/standing where was when the season tickets first went on sale. There were a good few who were in there, but most of them appeared to be people who don't come on here regularly.
I remember the main gripe being existing Bronze/Silver season ticket holders wondering if they'd have enough room in the East Stand. The Bronze and Silver at Edgeley Park were in The Cheadle End and Popular Side which has a combined capacity of about 7,000. To then be forced into a tiny stand at the new ground seemed harsh.
Sorry to hear about your run ins with supporters and people who work for the club.
I have no problem at all with run ins with supporters -- even those who act as if they are club spokespeople -- as we are all fully entitled to our own views and open and honest debate is good for everybody.
Sadly, run ins with people who work for the club seems to be par for the course over the years for those passionate supporters who dare sometimes to disagree with the current management. Perhaps that's why some supporters are so keen to toe the company line as that's a much more comfortable place to be.
So all power to your elbow. Please keep on coming on here and speaking your mind honestly and openly.
As for your suggested board name change, I can't go along with that. While I totally agreee that the South Stand is definitely the place to be (can't imagine why anyone who can stand would want to sit down at a rugby match) this board is totally inclusive of all supporters and all views, so I wouldn't agree to anything that was exclusive in any way.
And for me, the current title is fine ..... SaleRugby.co.uk -- Independent Sharks online, showing that it's all about Sale Sharks and that it is totally independent; the one and only means of Sale Sharks communication that can totally and honestly make that claim.
