On Air:

The game is on BBC Radio Gloucestershire between 2:30pm and 5:30pm. They broadcast on 95.0FM (Stroud), 95.8FM (Cirencester), 104.7FM (Gloucester, Cheltenham & Tewkesbury), 1413AM (Cotswold & Forest of Dean), DAB and Freeview 735 (in the area) and other TV channels. It is not on air on BBC Radio Manchester.

Internet radio, iPhones, iPads, tablets, smartphones, etc:

BBC Radio Gloucestershire will be on their normal on-line stream.

The BBC Live Event streams will carry an on-line stream, but just which number carries which is anyone's guess so you'll just have to cycle through them all (1 to 18 I think) to find the right one(s).

As not one single person for the whole of the last season suggested how to find the Live Event number I am unable to advise.

The BBC Sports app has been recommended but I find the Ultimate Rugby site (Update 5) a better bet for those occasions when video and audio sources may be inappropriate or catch the attention of The Boss! Each to their own, of course, and you may think differently.

To listen on mobile devices (when there's a commentary) I recommend the free TuneIn Radio app, available for most devices and platforms. Personally, I use the paid for Pro version at £0.69 which gives much more flexibility and is much better for the serious radio listener.

To access Flash streams on an Apple iOS device, I recommend the Photon app for £2.99. It takes a little getting used to (you have to "enable" Flash by clicking the lightning bolt symbol when you need it as the default is no Flash) but, in my experience, it works better than other alleged Flash browsers.

The website and app Ultimate Rugby is a very good source and I recommend that as well for all rugby updates, news and information. If you have iOS7.n and later you can get it to appear in your Notification Centre.

TV & Video

The Game is not on TV.

Last term the following link was recommended. I know nothing of it but iot may be worth a try. If you use it, or have ever used it, then please let me know if it works and if it is legitimate. Caveat Emptor.

Video 1: Rugby Live Stream

Video 2: bet365.com. As far as I can tell, you can open an account with as little as £5.00 (thanks DS) but do not have to gamble with it. That initial deposit appears to give you access to on-line streaming (in a smallish window) of many games in many sports. The schedule can be found here. It's a Flash site - why not HTML?

Video 3: BetFair - I have no idea how the site works as far as video is concerned.

Live updates:

Update 1: BBC Rugby Live Scores

Update 2: Planet Rugby. A link should appear on that page closer to kick off.

Update 3: SKY Sports Score Centre.

Update 4: Ultimate Rugby

Social media:

Not all of these may be at the match and the excellent Neil Leigh has sadly now left the MEN but, if he's at the match, our own Northern Sharks' feeds are the ones to follow as first preference:

Social 1: Northern Shark's The Shark Tank

Social 2: @SaleSharksRugby -Twitter.

Social 3: @SaleRugbyNews - Sale Sharks Fans Twitter

Social 4: BBC Radio Manchester - Twitter,

Social 5: Sale FaceBook

Social 6:Twatter Hashtag #strengthinunion - I still have no idea what a hashtag means or what it is supposed to do, or indeed if it works for those who do know, but for what it's worth I'll leave it in.

The Iffy

The Iffy 1: The Iffy live updates

The Iffy 2: Match report only. Compare, contrast and discuss the similarity, or otherwise, with the Unoffy reports prepared by various Learned Scribes and Scholars!

E&OE, Caveat Emptor etc etc

Half time

All to play for.

Big opportunity for AJ now. Needs to show game control and keep Gloucs pinged back. If we can keep our defensive shape which does get narrow and allows teams to go outside us then we should be good

This also means Longbottom needs a better second half -smiling smiley to be fair he hasn't had a lot of match time

I'd have taken 1pt before the game but now I'm just @#$%& off.
We could have won that but poor decision making and stupid errors in the last 20 killed us off.
Fair play to Gloucester, their backs/counter attacking was excellent and they took advantage of our @#$%& decisions in the 2nd half.

I know there are many positives to take from the game (Ben Curry was outstanding) but I'm too annoyed to think of them.

I think its about time serious questions were asked about our defending. Our failings are identical week to week, so clearly the issues are systematic and fundamental. We cant hold a rolling maul and we almost never manage a scramble defence once our first line is breached.

Our ridiculouslt naive penalty concession as also a regular fault which seem no closer to being remedied.

A win thrown away by own errors (again) today.

You can't really judge our defensive issues on this micky mouse, end of season, nothing much to play for encounter. You always get a load of points in these kind of games. The weather obviously helps.

The maul issue has only occurred this year. Previously we were outstanding in that area. Diamond has already admitted his failing in addressing the new laws. A bit of slack in that area is earned. Mills makes a massive difference, so it is personnel as much as coaching, so only fair to judge next season if there are any improvements.

The last try was broken field from rubbish kick, so no issue there, and the other we were caught out with 14 players, and James came in to track an excellent decoy line.

We have to give Gloucester some credit. For me the game was lost with some basic errors ball in hand, swinging the momentum back to them.

To say Haley was poor is harsh. I thought he looked v dangerous all game. He did make mistakes, but poor is incorrect imho.

Listening on radio Gloucester was very frustrating, it sounded as though we through a chance of 7th away today. I thought we had that won till the card. Arrgghh ! But good effort.

no clutch he cant grow giants, but he can leave the few we have on at key times when game is still being won. Major loss of poundage with Ostrikov for Nott and curry for Beaumont. Put us on back foot for the remainder of the game.

Does Nield, Curry, Curry, seem like a good balanced back row to you? me neither.
ditto Nott/Evans.

Unless injured I didn't see the point in taking Beaumont & McGuigan off.

Macginty looked good in their 22m but farted about in our 22m. Welly it 70m downfield.

Maybe, but we can only properly judge him next season. He's played a lot of rugby this year. Denny has done v well, but he gets through less work, and played in less high intensity League games.

More positives then negatives today. BP for tries scored and the performance of the season from a child! Maginty looking more dangerous, as are the backs, now we have had to alter our whole attacking structure to suit. I would be ok with him next year, as long as we sign a class 9.

Defensively, we were similarly caught narrow last week with 14, from a set piece with no subtle move required to get outside us. We just defend to narrow, dont number up well and consistently get caught out.

Unless Haley scores or makes tries his shortcomings in defence and general fb play outweight his advantages as a runner.

No Mart, but I'd imagine Ostrikov was knackered. Do we want exhausted players lasting the whole 80 in the interests of balance, risking injury.

We know the balance in the pack isn't right, but we are starting to address that for next year, and frankly, I'd rather get Curry and Nott on the pitch and risk losing the game, for the invaluable long term benefits exposure will bring.

Plus, I don't really see how the subs caused the loss. They didn't mess up chances. They didn't tackle someone taking a quick tap, and they didn't cause gaps in the defence and an awful kick. Sure Curry 2 gave a few pens away, but he earned a pen as well.

I agree re that, and we do need to look at that. Again, though, Forshaw has plenty of credit in the bank, and having multiple centre partners, and lacking our much underrated defensive bosh bros hasn't helped.

Same,
Haley hate seems to be in vogue atm, there's always one player that people choose what they want to see of.

Up until the last 20 I thought Sale's defending was very good (especially compared to ours where we seemed to think that tackling was optional). It came down to fatigue in the end.

Thought those Curry boys played superbly. Can we have one of them?

Just saw this from the offy:

"Sharks hit back straight away with a great try from Sam James and AJ MacGinty converted, 7-7.

Sharks scored again within seconds when Mike Phillips finished superbly in roughly the same place as James had touched down."

Guessing the author isn't a game analyst!

Also the Iffy thinks Harrison was binned for a late tackle rather than a "professional" foul.

I don't like to criticise players or management but after listening to the feed on the radio alone, I feel as though after the yellow card there was an opportunity missed, when they had an attacking scrum in their twenty two, why take a forward off? Why not bring on the prop, and at the same time bring on Pearce and loose s back, scrum could have been won and either penalty or try could have been gained , whereas they lost ascendancy in scrum the ball territory and the game, why???? Arrgghh !!!!!

Much of our thinking under pressure is poor. When the pressure is on someone go down injured - take a break - have a team talk - reorganise.

Oh Martwhit, one day the glass will be half full.

In recent months, having the likes of Nott and one or t'other Curry coming off the bench has made a huge positive impact, with the Falcons home game standing out in particular for their boost just when the team was wobbling. It sounds like you're judging the decision based on the match result, or one specific incident, and extrapolating it to write off a tactic that has borne much fruit of late.

Couple of things today. First what rude and disgusting behaviour by the Gloucester supporters booing Sale when they came out at half time, never heard it before and don't want to hear it again.
Why oh why can we not get rid of the ball from our own 22?
When Ross was sent off the quick tap was not taken from the correct spot and the following try two of our players were taken out off the ball.
None of this is an excuse for the last 10 mins - failed to close out the game again

Never heard booing of the opposition as they take the field? Either that was your first game or you have suddenly gained your hearing. I've heard booing many times at Heywood Road, Edgeley Park and AJB when opposition teams run out when there as a neutral. It isn't something to be concerned about, all part of the pantomime nature of support. If you think that is disgusting perhaps you need to get out a bit more.
