Application tips:

Must show no foresight or ability to pre-empt things. Should act shocked when inundated at half-time and rushed and must under no account expect this to happen and have pre-poured drinks ready to speed things up.

Must be more interested in chatting to fellow bar staff than serving customers - especially when 5 deep at the bar.

think we could be really helpful on here for the recruitment.

also should state, off the top of my head:

- no previous experience of ever preparing a pint of beer (or ideally, having ever bought, or drunk one)
- never made coffee or other hot drinks before
- no, or minimal, experience of "fast" food
- not able to quickly complete any mental arithmetic for adding up amount owed
- not able to multi-task
- under no circumstances must the applicant be able to do anything else once a drink has started to be filled into glass / cup even if it can be left to itself for some time
- inexplicable need to never hand-over a bottle top
- able to demonstrate time after time complete shock that someone might want to purchase a beer during a rugby match. in particular during half time
- must not recognise any queuing systems but instead serve as high priority whoever has appeared "magically" at the front of the counter and is demanding to be served immediately
- In particular as above if the customer requires more then 6 drinks, or looks "annoying"
- no interest in, or knowledge of, rugby in general, and Sale Sharks in particular
- ability to remain "calm", "unflustered" and "unrushed" when under stress, even when presented with enormous queues of potential customers. Must never show any "sense of urgency"

getting carried away now, think I'll leave it there.

Letís be honest, a capable candidate is hardly likely to be attracted to a job which is 3hrs a week on a Friday night for minimum wage in an area that's inaccessible by public transport.

No entirely true ale, don't forget Reds matches and quite a few corporate events.
