Major, I'm a bit surprised the coffee bar didn't have a No. 8 organised for the occasion. Thanks again, Major.

On that first try, though, if you run the video frame by frame it does appear that Solomona's heel clips the dead ball line on the way to scoring the try. Would that have been picked up, and so disallowed, by the TMO? Who knows, but recently there have been several instances of the commentating experts seeing one thing, and the TMO and the referee another. At the time it felt like a try to me, but then I wasn't in the best place to see it.

Later on there was a really heavy tackle on, was it, one of the Currys. Some behind us felt it would be looked at and brought back by the officials as foul play. To me at the time it just looked to be an extremely good tackle. Certainly no action was taken.

The question of who to play at 10 is that Cipriani has left a big gap to fill, as Wasps found out in their last game.

Anyway, Major, I am looking forward more to your next report than the game itself!

Major - I'm definitely feeling the same way about Faf - I was excited about him from the moment the signing was announced and he's been even better than I'd hoped.

On a number of our breaks this season it has been his distribution, getting the ball wide early, rather than through 10, that has opened up holes in the defence.

On this subject, has anyone noticed how much the media has focused on Gloucester being poor rather than anything positive about the way we played? I don't disagree they were poor but it seems a bit disrespectful to me.....hopefully we will repeat it on Friday

Thanks for the kind words, folks.

Dave: it was pretty much right in front of us, and we were convinced that JP would refer it.

Regarding fly half - I'm really conflicted. I want to see what JOC can do, but I really can't fault AJ this season other than he's a bit... I dunno... dull. No, not dull, just not... Cipriani... enough. But a kicking percentage in the nineties is not to be sniffed at and I'm loath to interfere with that.

thekeg: it's the way isn't it? If we beat a "lesser" team it's because they're lesser, if we beat a "better" team, it's because they had an off day.
