Theirs is basically the back division that was tearing it up early season. We'll need to be on our best defensive mettle.

Our lineup pretty much picks itself. Is Addison on the naughty step?

"We've trained well this weekÖ there's been good preparation and pretty much everyone is fit bar Will Addison, so we will be looking to put our strongest side out and I think they will be pretty much at full strength too.

We look to have the edge in the back row, both stating line up and bench, so hopefully that will make the difference.

Both teams great going forwards so need to control possession which we aren't great at.

He has been charged with an offence. If he pleads not guilty then presumably the panel will have to hear any evidence that might exist. If this involves calling Shilcock/referee/linesman etc to give evidence, then I imagine the hearing will have to be adjourned for witnesses to attend. Therefore Denny will be free to play in the interim. If they are relying only on recorded evidence then the hearing will presumably be concluded tonight.

Sure but he's past it according to the board!

I think we have more strength there to dominate in the tight, which is relatively unusual for us to say, and we have both Curry and potentially Beaumont to bring on there which I think gives us the edge.

Tricky situation!

If the reports that apologies were offered and accepted after the game are accurate, then Denny has acknowledged that there was something to apologise for. Is he going to retract that now?
It would appear transparent that retraction was a cynical ploy, solely to delay the commencement of any suspension. It would certainly rule out claiming the mitigating grounds on which Basteraud's penalty was reduced.

An admission that something was said, in the heat of the moment (and in reaction to a vigorous and gratuitous physical manhandling by the supposedly offended party!) contrition and mitigation would seem to me the best policy to get a sympathetic hearing and the most moderate sanction.

Anyway, at risk of being accused of cynicism myself, I think I'd be more interested in having Denny available for the start of next season rather than this Friday's match!

Of course, if the above mentioned reports are not accurate, then that's all out of the window!

Willis is class all around. 3rd best young back rower in the country (There is no £5 prize for guessing the best 2 (Sm151) ). I think starting back rows pretty even, if game remains close, then I think our replacements there might just swing it. This could go just about any way, both sides playing well should see an exciting close game, any early lapses could see a big win either way.

great game, from both sides. About time Sale performed on TV. To show the composure to win there shows how much the team have grown over the course of the season. Think the game was won with the comeback before HT, for which Jono Ross deserved his MoM. AJ is also massive for this team.

The Faf/Cips/Robson collision was very clearly a triple headclash, replays had it from every angle
Also, as if it needed any more proof, Faf came away with a black eye on one side and a bruise on the opposite side on his forehead
Just an unfortunate accident.
Hope Cips is OK, and all the extra medical attention was just precautionary

Hard to undersell the performance tonight. Ross though when it is tough really excels. Outstanding player. In all areas.

First off, I hope Cips is okay. Yes I cheered a former player being sin binned but Iím concerned about him getting hurt.

Secondly, get in!!!! The usual suspects were fabulous and a special mention to Jono & Marland

What an absolute stonker of a game. An epic victory. And what a fightback from 17-0 down!

I donít think Iíve ever seen the players so pumped and elated after a win - it could be a milestone victory for the squad in terms of cohesion and self-belief.

Two brief takeaways for me: Luke James impressed again. I think Iíd place him ahead of Jennings in my pecking order.

The Haley incident is a nonsense but being raked over incessantly by Wasps fans on twitter and seen as a reason for the defeat that it was missed. Itís being portrayed by some as a huge assault by Haley but it simply wasnít.

Was thinking exactly the same about Luke James. We definitely need a big signing at 12 but I'm more than happy with Luke as a squad option and he's still pretty young.

agree pappje. Just an example of appaling ruck technique from a back. No malice, not dangerous, no injury.

On the other hand, Jono may get a call for his clearout of Cooper Wooley. More debatable that one.

If you want a laugh go on the Coventry board. They are seething....

Ref was terrible..
We should have had at least two red cards..
Ref missed constant forward passes and crossing..
Faf knocked out Cips with a forearm, should have been at least a penalty and a yellow..
Faf should get cited for aforementioned attack..
They should never be losing to teams like Sale..

I just hope their footy team gets back in the Premier League so their gates drop to 2500.

Jono will likely get a citing, and rightly when you take into account similar incidents and how strict they are on contact with the head.
Haley on Bassett was nothing major, just a penalty if the ref notices it. Those collisions happen a dozen times a game, it was just unlucky that Bassett was forced off as a result.

Dimes was literally jumping up and down on the sidelines hugging the players and staff, obviously meant a lot to everyone!
I was impressed with Luke James too - his break in the 2nd half was excellent and he stood up well on defence considering his age and experience levels. If he continues progressing like this we've got a very good player on our hands.

To be fair there's plenty of them giving us credit and saying we deserved it too, and a couple admitting they were lucky with the Wade not held in tackle for the 3rd try.

I think the Wasps fans are fairly honest about the defensive issues in the team, but they're great to watch, and I would've accepted a defeat a lot more easily than the smash and grab dirge that was Newcastle.

Which part of Haleyís forearm to the head 3 meters away from the ruck did you agree with?

Well played today, you took your chances well, but that and the hit on JCW were disgusting and should be dealt with accordingly.

Oh FFS. QED.

Thereís a 3-second clip which shows no definitive contact with the head and instead that it could be shoulder. Not the thug assault itís being made out to be. And yes, I thought Jono Ross was lucky. It came up on the screen and I thought he was in trouble, but TMO decided not? Equally, in the buildup to Webberís try, you can see Thompson put his hand to Rossís face. Itís more mouth than eye but still, he knew where he was putting his hand. Everyone can pick out things like this if they want to.

Still buzzing after such a great game. The Cips incident happened right in front of us and seemed like a clash of 3 heads, 2 of there's and one of ours. File just came off worse. No elbow, Faf was holding the ball. The main damage was done in the Contact between Cips and his own player!
Buddies next week hopefully for some revenge for earlier in the season. Both teams far better than they were then so I am hoping for a good game. Wanted to go to Newcastle for some time so this is a good excuse. See you all there!

Epic game of rugby. Great advert for the game and more importantly for Sale

Thought we were on for a pasting after 20 mins. Looked like Wasps had 2 or 3 extra men on the pitch and it was all to easy

But once we got into the game I thought we were well worth the victory. Some superb play and great heart, determination capped off by calmness and accuracy in the last plays of the game to snatch an awesome win

On the injury front, glad to see Danny is OK. Slightly worried by our position now though. The James boys are now our only fit centres and we only have one fit loosehead who has already played almost the entire season

From a Wasp well done on your win, cannot begrudge losing this game as we lost the gain line battle for far to long. Our attack is top level, our defence is an achilles heal which has been so for 2 seasons now.

The Faff Cips moment was nothing for me as players all showed terrible contact and tackling technique, and if the 3 of them decided to run at each other standing upright then results like this will be common.

I wonder whether the Ross incident and also the Basset incident will be cited. Of the two Bassets is by far worse as i do not believe Ross went into contact deliberately to harm. Basset was not part of the ruck, and indeed behind it on our side of the defensive line, on a knee and your sale player choose to run and strike him with the forearm to his head which resulted in a K.O amd blood injury. This was a deliberate act, a more severe incident with an intent to harm and chances are if picked up at the time woukd be a red card.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I think a top 6 finish and Champions Cup Rugby should grace the AJ bell next season.

As an aside, unfortunately all boards and clubs have 'supporters' like Oldham shark. It always saddens me that there are individuals out there who simply post to insult, demean and antagonise others. But that is a deeper subject and one that requires a exploration into these individuals social, economic and psychological profiles to gain an understanding into why they choose to do what they do. Which is beyond the reaches of internet rugby message board posting. But we should not let these few individuals detract us from the large majority who truely understand the game and its ethos.

Good luck for the rest of the season!

Young said on commentary re the Wade try - "you win some, you lose some". Wise words which he should have taken to heart.

Dimes didn't say much, the mike wasn't turned on.

In terms of the potential foul play incidents.

De Klerk/ cipriani

I was watching it in the south stand and my initial thought was that de Klerk had used his elbow as a fend (non ball carrying arm). Having watched it again on bt sport this morning to me it's clear head to head. There is a forearm used by de Klerk but that appears to contact to chest with cipriani clearly knocked out by head to head contact with de Klerk.

Off the ball clear out on josh Bassett

Seen this incident this morning and imagine that may well get a citing.

Clear out by Jono on cooper Woolley

Again contact his head to head. Ross uses his shoulder to clear out to wasps player chest. Nothing in it for me. What I would say is wasps played borderline illegal/ very competitive at every ruck all night and a different ref would have pinged them off the park. They needed clearing out regularly and sale played better once this issue was dealt with. Aside from that Willis is a beast and a future England 6, what a player.

Off the ball incident on ross (by Thompson I think)

Only seen stills of this incident on twitter but doesn't look good and ross was not happy about something for a while last night. I do wonder if this will hey looked at too.

Hello all.
Enjoyed my visit last night. Very nice fans.
Very nice atmosphere too, does not need a huge crowd to make the stadium buzz, although your car park is leaving with us I fear given the amount if mud in our car.
Re above, I am not sure if any of you have actually read the Wasp board, but there is only criticism of the TMO and much about aspects of our team. We have had a player (Gaby L) ludicrously banned for far less than what we saw last night, and have had recent incidents missed and bans handed post match which only benefits our rivals rather than the sinned against team, just as we benefited with your banning last night, so inconsistent TMOs and citings are currently very sore points in general with us.
Well played and good luck for the rest of the season.

Could somebody explain how we ended up with a scrum after the Cips/Faf incident? I didn't see JP s signal. Sale were in possession so it can't have been a knock on by Wasps, time was up. If it was a penalty and we chose the scrum should it not have been a PT. Confused but happy at the game and still confused.

Can't end the game on an injury, so simple scrum restart following the injury stoppage.

Ref stopped the game for an injury to a Wasps player. Normal decision then is a scrum with team in possession's ball. Although time was up, JPD said that it was unfair on Sale not to restart as it was stopped for a Wasps player's injury.
