I hope that he plays a stormer and comes out unscathed.

May the fun/chaos/creativity begin

The rugby world needs a strong South African team so it's good to see this team selection, even if they do beat England. Hopefully there'll be a couple more Sale players going up against Faf.

Good for him - but that probably means you won't see him until October after the SH Championship

Didn't see the first 20, thankfully, but thereafter Faf was such a driving force behind what was an immense comeback effort.

Some fabulous rugby from 24-3 down.

I canít do links but basically Rassie Erasmus is saying that Faf and Le Roux are free to play in the Rugby Championship for SA. Think this goes on from end Aug to beginning of Oct. So Iím guessing Faf will miss all our pre season and early part of the season - dam it!!?

One of those rumoured new signings better be a 9!

Pretty unlikely I think. Faf is a clear first choice which would put off a lot of prospective signings. Cliff I assume is happy to be back up and he did better than I'd expected last year.

We need back up for Cliff though! Unless Sturgess is ready.

Could sign a Southern Hemisphere 9 on a three month contract.

Or even a Stringer-like old pro

It's quite remarkable really that given the number of rugby clubs and rugby playing schools in the NW that Sale haven't been able to either produce more than one scrum half every 3/4 years or found a decent club player who could come in as a consistent 3rd choice

but they would have 3 months to subvert that expectation

Does he have 1 or 2 years remaining on his contract?

He supposedly signed a 3 years contract (i.e. 2 yrs left), whatever that might mean these days. 3rd year often seems to be an "option."

Don't know what happens in the 2019/20 season, if the start is being delayed, the world cup runs into November. I'd expect SA to be in it deep into October reinforcing our need for a 3rd scrum half.

I agree we could do with another 9, but I don't think it will be one of those already rumoured, which is the point Staly mentioned that I responded to (I.e. One of the 4 prospective SH players - expect these to be Prop, RJVR, outside centre and utility back?)

Fly half/full-back unless S James is covering 10 once more as JOC should be 15.

Yes someone who could be 10/15 cover would be ideal.

I'm thinking Damian McKenzie would fit the bill...

And then maybe off to France with a huge cheque in his pocket, and in Sale's too.
