Agreed. But perhaps he is on Eddie's radar instead!

Isn't Luke James too old for the U20s now, assuming his date of birth given on the Sale FC website is correct: 31st August 2017.

Luke's birthday is 18 March 1999 if I remember correct

Agree - he may also be "rested" for it - out of all the players picked he's probably played the most Prem games this season?

Luke J is just unlucky (in our eyes), but the coaches have decided heís not what theyíre looking for, unfortunately for him. Likes of Cam Redpath and Fraser Dingwall are ahead of him.

This question may require (if anyone is actually interested that is!) a thread of its own but which Sale Academy players have played Under 20s/21s rugby and then made it to get a full cap?

Tom Curry
Tommy Taylor?

Did these guys have a U20s/21s team?:
Chris Jones
Sir Charles
Schofield
Foden
Sanderson
Henry Thomas
Mark Cueto
Wigglesworth
Lund
Titterrell

They seem to have dried up since the glory days.

I don't think the age group teams were going when Hodgson or the Sandersons were the required age. Presumably it might apply to some of the others too.

I think Hodgson was 20 before he joined Sale (FC as was), post university
Schofield started at Wakefield

He joined Sale in 2000 and the Romania game was 2001

Henry Thomas definitely played England age group rugby, probably from school age. I remember him scoring at U20 world cup several years ago.
Think Foden probably did too (play age group that is). Not sure on any of the others

Edit - according to WIki, Henry played U16, U18 and U20. His try at U20 RWC was against Ireland in 2011.

Ben played U16, U19 and U21 he also played for a little known outfit that some of you young uns might not remember, England 'A'

Unhappiness, where's when I was young
And we didn't give a damn
'Cause we were raised
To see life as a fun and take it if we can
