i have a qeustion? sorry to be awkward but what happens if someone else on the board has your christian name and a lot of people call you by your second name in real life anyway. also whats the problem with putting your full name is it risky?

You can put whatever name you wish people to call you, Winstoner.

Is putting your full name risky? Opinions differ. Some don't mind potentially identifying themselves to every single internet user, good and bad, and others think that to be identifiiable as a specific real person is risky - what with identity theft, information on movements, the potential to actually find where you live, etc, etc.

I never thought that I would (look away now, Major :-D ) recommend a Microsloth Dark Side website, but this page and the links have some useful information about personal details.

(OK, you can start reading again from here, Major. yawning smileyD )

If you want to declare your full real name then feel free - but I will only list Christian/given/forenames or whatever you wish to call it. And I myself am called by my second name, and that's what appears in the list.

It's really up to you.

Please note that this is not the Meet The Family section, contributions for that should be sent direct to The Major.

Remember that The Major needs to post new articles at least once a fortnight to keep this board alive (rugbynetwork automatically suspend it if there are no new "front page" articles) and new additions to Meet The Family is one way of doing that.

Right, I think I'm up to date - sorry Pee Wee, but I missed your contribution.

Any more for any more? There are numerous new posters on the DG so why not post your first names on here and I'll keep the list up to date.

"C'mon, lesh bea hic avernya hic!", as a well known foopball club director was reputed to have said.

Sorry, gabbyshark, I missed you off too!

It's all down to age and mental degeneration. That and the "Follow this thread" option not working.

And my being too keen to click the "Mark all as read" button! (Sm147)
