Went to Odsal a few times in the late 50's and 60's. The changing rooms were at the top of the bowl, and at half time the players stayed on the pitch as it was too far to get to the changing rooms within the interval. My dad took me to Odsal in 1959 to see the league play off final between St Helens and Hunslet. There were more than 66,000 there, and considering the end 'terracing' was a banking of cinders it was a bit frightening. The 1954 Challenge Cup Final replay between Warrington and Halifax was also played at Odsal in front of a crowd of 104,000. No Elfin Safety about then!
COME ON LEEDS.
We've been through it all together.
