Guess the attendance, high flying Bristol

Next Friday evening, for the first time this season, we will be able to monitor the South and North Stand reconstruction under the floodlights. And provided J-Lo can find enough fit bodies we can also watch a match between Carnegie and Bristol, who despite the unavailability of their international stars, should not have too much trouble in getting a high-class team together. No ringers or “coach driver on the wing” for them.

Last time out, at the Carnegie Stand of Fortress Emerald Headingley, JDH showed he has more talents than just construction expertise by picking up 3 points and becoming our first multiple winner. Consolation prizes go to headingleytyke (2 points), with the remaining point being awarded to Bobba. The table now looks like this:

JDH 5 points
Nobodytyke 4
Redcar, Gelbel 3
Headingley tyke, yorkie ba 2
WW, TykeGeorge, Bobba 1

So going back to Friday evening I forecast that we will be disappointed with the South Stand progress but the North Stand will seem to be coming on well. The attendance? Haven’t a clue.
But got to start somewhere so 2001 A Space Oddity

No supporters coach (ask me why when you see me!) for Bristol so people have to make their own way so I'll go for my usual 2112

sorry if this spoils your thunder Gelbel but the reason why there is no supporters club coach is simply because of the day and time perhaps understandably there was not enough takers to make a coach financially viable , so yes the number of away supporters we have had this season which have doubled the crowd at some grounds will not be present though I would hope our lads will be able to manage without us .
Having witnessed us being on the end of some drubbings at Headingly over the years I would not presume a victory for us is a foregone conclusion regardless of what the table would suggest though I would hope the charitable among you would agree that should Ealing with their pathetic support win the league it would be a travesty .
Some though I am sure will disagree , arrogant Bristol and all that , so where did I leave my tin hat ?

If you don't go up this year it will be more than a travesty. From Chris B's comments last year it will be a disaster!
A cobbled together Carnegie side will go all out but I suspect you will have too much quality.
Good luck.

I certainly agree with your views on Ealing (horrible pitch/clubhouse), and I think our business plan is based on Bristol getting promoted this season: hence we will play without a recognised number 10 (unless you can lend us one, though it must be free of charge). Looking forward to some quality rugby on display and any Bristol supporters making the trip can leave their tin hats at home and are really welcome.

A great business plan of short-changing the punters - why bother paying foreign journeymen, you might just as well play the Yorkshire Academy and give them experience if staying above Rotherham is the only criteria for success this season.

And why slag Ealing for their pitch/clubhouse. Is it not THEIR clubhouse and pitch?

Unless things have changed I believe that Trailfinders (the sponsor) own the ground and pitch. London Broncos I think also play there. Ealing didn't even own the bar or catering (something we know all about) and unless they've had a massive ground expansion won't make the criteria for promotion.

And yes, the only place for Bristol should be in the Prem. We have no way of competing with a Club that has the ability to pay on player what is almost the playing budget at Headingley for the year!

There had definitely been some sort of student promotion. Not only were there three Black Sheep pumps to the usual one, but they had procured a supply of two-pint plastic pots. Not sure how many will turn up on a Sunday afternoon and pay full whack but you never know.
