No not thinking of drugs here! If you want a mid-week rugby fix then on Thursday afternoon BBC2 is showing the (male) Varsity match (2-45 p.m.). The feminine version is on the Red Button before that.
Just a reminder so that you working types can set your videos.

There is also a Bidgood turning out for Oxford Ladies, though I don't know whether she is related to our long-serving finance manager. Very wet at Twickers today.

I think I also spotted wee Gordie Ross among the Oxford coaches.

I imagine you are pleased with the two light-blue victories, Albert.

Indeed. The men in particular were underdogs and had to spend a long period defending their line, with Oxford only emerging with a single score. The dark blues helped out by frequently knocking the ball on in promising positions, which seemed oddly familiar.

The link being Andy Saull? A bit unfair because he put a big shift but things didn't quite go right for him.

Not sure why the BBC televised this fixture.

No, the link being that we have seen it so many times over the years from our own team!

Not sure why it's back on the Beeb after a few years on Sky. Perhaps it's one of the few bits of live sport it can afford these days.

Valid for both his effort in the Varsity match and his career at Carnegie!
