England Number 8

Sadly Billy Vinopola suffered a broken arm on Saturday, having just returned to action after knee surgery. For all the work done by Eddie Jones in building three candidates for each England position, a bad run of injuries has meant that the (vital) number 8 position could be an issue for the forthcoming 6 Nations.
The young pretender is Zach Mercer (you might just remember his Dad) but the 6 Nations is not the place to blood new "apprentices.Or is it?

Who do you think should do the job?

I have the greatest respect for your candidate Yeldor, but perhaps he needs to cement his place in the Artic Budgies first team before Eddie will go for him!

He will go for Hughes or Simmonds I guess. Nobody can really replace him though as nobody can influence the game and carry like him.
I thought morgan was good before the rwc but then Billy went up about 6 gears!

Think Buzzs situation at Falcons demonstrates the quality gap between Champ and Prem perfectly

Simmons does an excellent job when the opportunity presents itself. He seems to be difficult to put down on the floor with ball in hand and regularly makes meters with ball in hand. He'll do!

No need. Eddie watches him, probably more often than any of us1

PS. He also knows where the try line is!

Enough said!
