Change of style

The match against Richmond demonstrated a pragmatic style that has been missing in recent years. Given that we would knock on with any first phase use of the backs, we seem to prefer the drive forward followed by the kick chase. The sort of tactics used at the top end of the game.
But not the RL style we have seen in the J-Lo era. Any thoughts?

I think the weather dictated the style first half. The 9 and 10 control and run the game. We have a proper pairing now, so can hopefully play more than one style. The backs didn't get much good ball. Richmond were offside all game and we took it standing still. When we did get it there wasn't much fluidity but hopefully that will come.

To be fair, I did not see much chasing our kicks. They tended to be far to long and gifting the opposition possession. I did however see quite a few knock-ons! Basic handling skills need to improve considerably, and yes, taking the ball standing still gets you nowhere.
