Chris Stirling has managed to get a matchday squad together somehow and Andy Forsyth is the "guest" No. 10 this week:

Yorkshire Carnegie Director of Rugby Chris Stirling has made six changes to the side that lost at Jersey Reds last Friday for this Sunday’s Greene King IPA Championship clash with Bedford Blues at Emerald Headingley, kick off 3pm.
With fly half Brendan Cope ruled out following an ACL injury suffered last week, Stirling has shuffled his back line. Canadian international Dan Moor returns on the wing with George Watkins moving to centre to allow Andy Forsyth to switch to fly half. At scrum half, youngster Oli Fox comes in for JB Bruzulier.
There is a new look in the front row with Rowan Jenkins, Dylan Donnellan and Andrew Foster starting this week having come on as replacements in the Channel Islands. The final change in the starting line up sees Trystan Lloyd replace Will Britton in the back row.
Young fly half Harry Davey has returned from a spell at Bath, where he featured in two Premiership Rugby Shield games.
The team in full is
15. Louis Brown, 14. Dan Moor, 13. George Watkins, 12. Tom Bullough, 11. Chris Elder, 10 Andy Forsyth, 9. Oli Fox, 1. Rowan Jenkins, 2. Dylan Donnellan, 3. Andrew Foster, 4. Mike Myerscough, 5 Matt Smith, 6. Trystan Lloyd, 7. Josh Bainbridge, 8. Dan Temm (c)
16. Charlie Gibbings , 17. James Thraves, 18. Jake Ilnicki, 19. Elliott Ward, 20. Will Britton, 21. JB Bruzulier, 22. Harry Davey

I don't get how Davey can happily play 80mins for bath A bit cannot get into our starting line up so we put a 13 there?

I did think the same and changing our experienced 9 for Fox against an experienced campaigner in Dickson,

Big test for both at 9 & 10

Good interview with stirling on offy saying players coming in. That should have happened pre season for me.
Club saying it unfair to put Davey in at 10 so going for experience in Forsyth. Fair enough but that upsets the whole backline. Fox most have played more rugby with Davey than Forsyth and Watkins not a 13. So defence will be tested especially the way Bedford play.

If Forsyth is injured after 5 minutes will Davey come on at 10? If so why not start him there? How do we benefit from starting him on the bench?

There just protecting him which you can get but he is a match winner. When the pressures on sunday that backline has never played together before. At least by playing Davey you are just swapping a 10 for a 10 with the rest as is.

If Davey isn't ready he shouldn't be on the bench.
I don't understand that decision at all.

I suspect the Championship is a more physically demanding environment than the, to be honest, pretty meaningless "rugby shield" and our DoR is making sure that our young No. 10 is not targeted by the opposition and exposed to a potentially demoralising experience. IMHO, he needs to gain confidence in steps, then I am sure we will see the results.
