Notts Match

Well a win is win, not a great a spectacle of rugby at times, but good game management from YC who ensured they did what was needed for win. Notts were competitive but again we still haven't really clicked as a team. Some thunderous tackles and contacts by both sides but we got bogged down at times and struggle to utilise our backs but it was that type of match, Glad I was not paying Tom Varndal wages tonight because he was redundant for most of the match.

Scrummaging was poorly refereed we had them on toast quite a few times but the ref was inconsistent, but saying that scrums these days are a lottery.

I think this team has so much more potential. I am just waiting for it happen, do not get me wrong I think they doing a great job but you just see they are on the cusp of been a very good squad of players. With out trying to sound patronising ( Smart @#$%&) it is small margins here and there.

What I like about the team is that even when they are behind you know they going come back and compete, I have not seen that mentality in YC side for long time

Good report thank you. Tough place to win and in bad weather too.

I would like to echo JDH.

I have been to Notts several times but not on a Friday night, braving the M1 at its worst. Thanks for the update.

I presume that the "run" was on the footpath alongside the M1? (Sm55)(Sm20)

Although it no longer applies to me, I think there is a thing called "work" (please correct me if I remember this word incorrectly) that is a major impediment to Friday night away games.

Leaving Leeds at 5.30 p.m. you would struggle, unless you have a police escort?

Unless like me you work in Nottinghamshire....... I love Friday night games against Nottingham........

Those of us who were there enjoyed a convincing win in windy and cold conditions

I drove down from Bangor took 2hrs 45 mins and had time to park up at McDs for a coffee. Even getting past Stoke wasn't an issue.

Is this the Highways England site or what? I would say though that the journey is much better now that the "managed motorway" works have been completed.

Regarding the match, I thought it was a better spectacle than Yorki made out. I really enjoyed it. But then I am easy to please! Both sides tried to get the ball out wide when they could but the heavy pitch wasn't conducive to open rugby. We were denied a likely breakaway try when our winger - not sure which one - stumbled in the bog in front of the "stand". And even the Nottm fans were surprised that their second try was allowed to stand after we kicked away possession on our advantage.

Watkins try is a good one. Beautiful inside pass from jade. Jade really settling in and looking the business imo.

Just watched the highlights and they are impressive! Some cool kicking in a vicious wind, impressive tries and a less impressive Notts try on our "free play".
Jade is really impressing, at the Bedford match he showed he can manage a game and it seems he now has the confidence to show his individual skills to the full.
After getting off a plane and debuting at Coventry three days later, still jetlagged and with his leg heavily strapped, he has now blossomed.
