You have to think whatever team we put out next year the 10th is minimum target as hartbury will do the same again and relegate 11th place

Whoever comes down will have to watch Ealing closely that's for sure.

Well, as they finished off with a win against Ealing we could almost suggest that was the play off final. I was interested to see that Topsy Ojo announced his retirement this week. As a player who has experienced probably as many ups and downs as YC he also said he was still in favour of relegation and promotion, but he also said he would like to see proper funding for the Championship. Wishful thinking I am afraid, but with all the debate about the World League that has been going on I couldnít help thinking that maybe the RFU should focus on whatís going on closer to home. As it is increasingly looking like itís the falcons coming down, leaving Sale as the only team in the north in the top flight, all those people that stereotype Union as a game for the south and the midlands and league as the northern game are in danger of becoming accurate.

Good luck to Pirates but if they eventually do go up there would be an even greater imbalance between the north and the rest of the country. Especially towards the south west.

I think the whole rugby landscape will change over the next 5 years
