The future of Carnegie and the Championship

Listening to the Will Greenwood podcast (episode 41) there is a very interesting piece re Yorkshire Carnegie, the future of the Championship, comparisons with the French game and the academy. Invaluable insights from Rob Vickerman and some clarity around the current shambles at Headingley. Really is a must listen and if one of my fellow forum followers with better IT skills than I can cut and paste to the forum this will enlighten many.

I have re tweeted the link if anyone wants to latch onto that.

Will listen to it myself later.

Cheers, I would normally have drafted a (just past) teenager to assist but he is in Penzance smiling smiley

Thank you Leeming for sharing the link.

It was a good listen but depressing check on reality

Great listen cheers. For me it brings home the importance it is saved. At least by being there someone could take it on in the future to better things

Thanks for alerting us to this podcast: otherwise difficult to find any interest in the Championship. Good to hear that someone seems to care.
Also, I follow the French Pro D2 and it is the first time I have seen (sorry heard) any reference to it in England. One point not made was that last season the second position team in the French Pro D2 beat the 13th position team in the Top 14 and therefore won promotion. This just shows how even the two divisions are in France.

Rob Vickerman's observations are great. I particularly picked-up on the comment that Gary Hetherington has had to say something when there is nothing to really say.

A really good listen - I have to say very pragmatic, the comment of it being a 2 step process where the playoff system was shelved being as step 1 and then the next step was to ring fence.

A lot of sense talked - was particular impressed by what Rob Vickerman had to say - not good listening but it is what it is.

The discussion about the academy is really important.
We must have a vehicle for lads to progress, not only up to U18 but through to 21.

I really hope that the RFU get behind this within Yorkshire.

I have listened to a few things rob has done and written. He does speak a lot of sense.
