Feel, Sorry for Lewington, but, that looks a good side with a good 50% of current second choice players. Should be close.

so ignoring the England players (BYoungs, Manu, Parling, Croft), plus Castro who is with Italy, who are missing from the first XV?

Swap in Flood for Ford, Young for Grindal, Marcos for Boris, Chuter for Hawkins, Salvi for Newby, Allen for Twelvetrees. Although is Allen still injured?

And on the bench, Twelvetrees for Forsyth (unless Allen is injured), Boris for Marcos, Hawkins for Chuter, Newby for Salvi.

It's not far off.

Probably a dozen playing who wouldn't be in our first 15 if everyone was at their best, and fit ?

Well to try and gauge it, how about, if everyone was fit and available, and we had to play a 1st, 2nd and 3rd etc team at the same time (ignore replacements, too complicated!), we would have, I believe:

15 Geordan Murphy (c) - 1
14 Horacio Agulla - 1
13 Matt Smith - 2
12 Billy Twelvetrees - 2
11 Scott Hamilton - 2
10 George Ford - 2
9 James Grindal - 4
1 Boris Stankovich - 2
2 Rob Hawkins - 2
3 Logoviii Mulipola - 3
4 George Skivington - 2
5 Graham Kitchener - 3
6 Steve Mafi - 2
7 Craig Newby - 2
8 Thomas Waldrom - 1

Which if added up = 31 which is a 2nd team on average (a full 1st choice would score 15). what would Saints team score? Of course another interesting measure would be to score the team based on who is actually available allowing for fitness and internationals and to the best of my knowledge:

15 Geordan Murphy (c) - 1
14 Horacio Agulla - 1
13 Matt Smith - 1
12 Billy Twelvetrees - 1
11 Scott Hamilton - 2
10 George Ford - 2
9 James Grindal - 1
1 Boris Stankovich - 2
2 Rob Hawkins - 2
3 Logoviii Mulipola - 1
4 George Skivington - 1
5 Graham Kitchener - 1
6 Steve Mafi - 1
7 Craig Newby - 2
8 Thomas Waldrom - 1

Suggesting we are choosing not to play Alex, Tobes, Marcos, Chutes and Salvi.

Yes I am a statto!! Would love to see comparative scores for the Saints line-up.

OK then comparatively in my opinion Saints are:-

Tongahuia 1
Long 4
D-Jones 2
Craig 3
Day 1
Clarke 2
Wood 1
Wilson 1
Roberts 2
Myler 1
Artemiev 2
Downey 1
Pisi 1
Armstrong 3
Diggin 2

Which gives a score of 27.

First choice back 3 IMO is

Ashton
Elliot
Foden

Cato is also injured and Diggin could potentially start on the wing given his recent form.
