"has made 158 appearances in Tigers colours, eight of them
this season, and scored 20 points"

so must have scored four tries - can anyone remember any of them?
Must have been fairly momentous occasions but sure he wouldn't have gone in for Castro sytle celebration.

Will miss that right hook. Having him on a part time basis over the past few years really has been invaluable.

I remember the very first time I saw him scrum down for us at Welford Road. What struck me was his poise and balance both before and after the hit. His superb technique was for all to see.

A fantastic player and wonderfully loyal after finally finding a permanent home with us after an itinerant career.

Thank you Jules and bless you for settling in South East Leicestershire which I'm sure was instrumental in prolonging a career on a part time basis, a benefit for both club and player.

I sat next to him at an end of season dinner for Saracens (its a long story but not as sordid as it sounds).

He wasn't overly talkative but pleasant company.

His ex falt mate and Scrum Half Nick Walshe (I think) was legless later on and full of tales of the younger, less temperate Julian.

I rmember listening as he got sent off for Bristol against us and thinking to myself that if our plan needed him out of the picture, he must be good.

He then signed and has joined the pantheon of the greats in the 3 shirt for us.

Many thanks for all the enjoyment Julian, I wish you and the family every happiness in all you do.

It will be a sad day when it actually comes - but I guess we all knew it was coming.

We've had a fantastic history of great, abrasive, warrior tight-heads and he's been one of the best. And I'm so proud that Julian has been one of [the best] of them. We have been privileged to enjoy his efforts as much as others have been made to suffer. I don't even mind much the occasional application of the right hand!(Sm110)

As Gojko says - great technique but also immense power and huge passion. He's always been a pleasure to watch and I really hope we get one last chance.

Suppose we better all start buying his beef and lamb!

One of them was against Bristol at the Walkers when the CAT stand was being built. Can't think of the others, though.

Julian's 4 Leicester tries were:

Tigers vs Barbarians (3rd March 2004) - Friendly
Calvisano vs Tigers (15th January 2005) - HC
Tigers vs London Irish (29 December 2007) - GP
Tigers vs Bristol (25th April 2009) - GP @ Walkers Stadium

A very fine prop whose technique has not let him down yet despite being forty next birthday, and a Tiger through and through.

His belligerence added immensely to many many Tigers games, but I was always disappointed when it ran over into fisticuffs. Yes it was funny to see him clock Sheridan, but I'd much rather his reputation for hardness be only from his legal rugby playing.

A proper Tigers legend in the prime of his life. God speed Farmer White, and thanks !
