Ranieri sacked, seems very strange timing.

That's sad. He'll always be the man who managed them to their greatest triumph, and whoever comes after will always be compared unfavourably to that. I suppose his card was marked when the owners started doing the "he has our complete support" stuff

Typical spoilt -brat behaviour of uber rich sports club owners though.
And it's already started in some parta of rugby too.

Sport at the highest level is a paricularly cut throat business.
Its the timing thats strange as they have waited too long for improved performances to come.
They were able to achieve the nigh impossible last year but an aging defence was a year older and slower, then when confidence and lady luck depart the performaces were terrible.
On the face of it he seemed a polite, respectful person who probably has paid the price for his highly paid players inability to perform, and being too loyal too long to some of the players.
Leicester has been lucky to have had Cockers and Claudio, lets hope both clubs manage to find suitable replacements, they certainly are hard acts to follow.

I am no fan of soccer, however it is professional sport, supporters demand success and owners respond to demands from supporters.

Regrettably there is no place there is no place for the man who delivered their finest hour.
Given the recent results in a results driven business it is no surprise.

We Tigers are going through a similar situation, a much loved DOR has gone because of poor results.

Smurk quote: ''But there is no question the City players will know they have let Ranieri down. With him at the helm they have enjoyed the highlight of their careers.
Because of Ranieri, they became champions and have enjoyed the trappings of that success. They have been lauded around the globe.
They owe Ranieri a huge debt of gratitude and, more importantly, they now owe the club a massive reaction for the rest of the season because whoever comes in to replace the Italian, it is only the players that can save City's Premier League status now.

Smurk question: ''There have been suggestions that a statue of Ranieri should be put up to recognise his place in City's history, and that has been re-ignited following the Italian's departure.'' Should they?

Yes!

One season of being a sport again but now it's gone back to show business. Still, Lincoln might win the FA Cup (boo).

Far be it for us to lecture anyone about sacking a decent man and a dedicated coach but he was a good man in a scathing sea of brutality. His laudable but misguided efforts in enhancing his players salary by a couple of 0s, lead only to it going to their heads and forgetting how, why and what, they achieved. The players should be ashamed of themselves. It lead to another decent man having to go on TV, talk about dressing room (non)unrest and flatly contradict what the owners said. Football has let it's roots rot away and been ruined by money, Sadly, rugby and cricket, far from learning from this , seem hell bent on going down the same road.
Good luck Claudio, you deserve better.

Agree Idle Cohen was saying the increase in salary cap had gone straight into players pockets, nothing for development.

Brilliant win last night. Vardy said the fans criticism stung the team into action. Which begs the question, why did it take that to get the team to play how they are paid to play in the first place?.
Anyone watching the Riders? Blasting all before them at the moment.
