Rugby Paper possible Tigers signings

Well we can take these with a pinch of salt, lets see.

We are talking to Damian McKenzie Full Back and also his brother.

Also talking to Aro Botha who was due to join Ulster but failed a fitness medical at the end of last season, sounds more like a player for us then.

Finally we are interested in USA player Chris Baumamm who plays TH and Hooker.

Well we will see eh.

Damian McKenzie

Aro Botha

Chris Baumamm

Marty McKenzie

WE seem to be looking at alot of overseas players, will we be outside PRL/RFU requirements?

Bauman has also apparently been struggling with an injury, but I understand it is more of a niggle that he played through to help USA qualify for the RWC. He's not that great by most reports so I'd be interested to see him in the flesh.

Not sure about the EQP requirement thing.

I mean most are replacing Non EQP anyway (Should they happen).

Personally should those signings happen i would say our starting 23 would be
Genge (EQP)
Youngs (EQP)
Cole (EQP)
Barrow (EQP)
Slater (EQP)
Williams (EQP)
Ryan (N-EQP)
Botha (N-EQP)
Youngs (EQP)
Ford (EQP)
Thompstone (EQP)
Toomua (N-EQP)
Manu (EQP)
Veainu (N-EQP)
McKenzie (N-EQP)

McGuigan (EQP)
Rizzo (N-EQP)
Mulipola (N-EQP)
Kitchener (EQP)
O'Connor (EQP)
Harrison (EQP)
Ford (EQP)
McKenzie (N-EQP)

15/23 which i think is bang on the requirements.

Its an average over the season in any case.

They've not published the requirements in the new deal so it might still be 14/23 for all we know.

Do PRL publish anything? Is anything about them open and opaque?

Personally I would think Kalamafoni would be in the team at 8 ahead of Botha and I think Hamilton will not settle for a bench spot and will be pushing for a starting role. Botha will need to be cheap to make it worth signing him, most of us liked the idea of a big ball carrying eight, Botha is smaller than McCaffrey who many said was not big enough.
I hope the McKenzie bros do arrive, a fullback and long kicker to release Telusa to the wing and a back up centre is pretty good. Now if there was someone really quick who could come I would be well pleased.

I don't believe McCaffrey's stats TBH.

Quite - regardless of whether you believe either of their stats you only have to look at them to see Arno is significantly larger than Lachy.

Another transition season then.

When has a NZ team ever stopped a transfer happening early?

They will up the price but if Mckenzie wants to they will let him go for the money.

Didn't his provincial side they hold on to BOC to the last moment of his contract? Not that they shouldn't have done or anything.

If he comes at the end of the current super rugby season I will retract my criticism but if not then there must be questions to be answered about the timing of the departure of JPP/Betham.

I'm saying BOC's did.

This pours scorn on the Damian rumour. More substance to this story than the ones linking him with us

In all honesty if the Herald said that Antarctica was a tad chilly I'd look for corroboration.
