Notes on the match:

Lots of subs used early. Holmes and White off in first half. Injured? Protected? who knows.

MacPherson off in first half, replaced by Sam Bailey who really impressed me. Put himself about and really @#$%& up a few Wasps players by charging at them in defence and putting them under a bit of pressure.

3rd scrum half used was Ben Pointen, also played a bit of wing whilst Simmonds was at 9, was impressive. Thacker-like tenacity. Played 7s for us in summer. Olowofela has something about him, real eye for a gap and belief in him hitting it. Some costly errors though and needs to improve kicking game to make step up at 15.

Hardwick good goal kicker, punting game needs work but a decent prospect. Could probably do with some game time in Championship where it matters to test game management. Maybe should look to being a 12 or 13 given he isn't going to get ahead of George Ford any time soon but could be asset as a kicker from another position. Equally could push ahead of Joe Ford I suppose.

Catchpole showed well on the wing late in the game, felt he was a touch quiet when at 13.

Overall I think Bailey should play next week with a view to offering him a contract. Big impression at this level, reminiscent of a few good players but wouldn't want to burden him with any silly comparisons after one game.

If he played that well TBH might aswell sign him up now IMO wasps might be taking notes.
Hardwick prob another couple years off Ford anyway he's only just turned 18.

Sounds like the lough connection is already looking promising.

Good result, nice to be reading about an "A" team game, gotta be good for the game and the players.

Good game and some good points as have been pointed out.

However at the start of the game our A team also had some trouble in the line outs. Appeared to put it right in the second half though and managed to steal a couple off Wasps at the end.

A good point IMO was that the boys tried to compete at the breakdown more than I have seen in the prem games and although the referee penalised then often at least it showed that we are trying to compete there.

With hard work can't see any reason why this bunch can't produce some first team players in the future.
