Same deranged rubbish that she spouted last year

You'd have thought that she would need a new grindstone by now...

And gets shed-loads of publicity, unfortunately. It does affect kids being allowed to take up the sport, as parents pick up on this, just like they pick up on other BSt in the papers. I do object to her being described as an expert when she is nothing of the kind medically.

'Prof Allyson Pollock, from Newcastle University, is presenting new evidence that banning tackling would reduce concussion, head and neck injuries'.

I'm just about to publish evidence that bears indeed do defecate in the woods and amazingly the Pope is indeed Catholic.

No excrement Sherlock!

There is no real evidence. I like the reply of Dr Alan Carson 'an expert in brain injury.' 'The health crisis facing Britain's children is obesity and lack of exercise, not concussion.'

Great piece on local Scottish tv. Ex-international player interviews local kid in wheelchair as dislocated his neck during clash of heads in a tackle. Young lad would take the same risk all over again. Now enjoys wheelchair rugby. Guy from SRU says we get schools from all over Scotland wanting to know about playing rugby due to morals and ethos it has plus values and teamwork. Positives far outweigh any negatives the man says.

It is dangerous crossing the road. So we should all stay in bed all day every day. But wait, isn't that dangerous and bad for your health too? People will be getting old and dieting next!

Anyone remember that charlatan Andrew Wakefield? Alyson Pillock is a latter-day version of him.

Deadly measles outbreak anyone? Her "research" should be consigned to the bin

Interesting comparison onee the day that Measles has been declared as eliminated in the UK.

Anyway since children get injured running and skipping and climbing trees - let alone swimming and riding bikes let's ban those as well. Then they can concentrate on their video games...

Alison Pollock just has a weird obsession with rugby tackles, Andrew Wakefield had a commercial interest in discrediting MMR - and had no qualms about doing so despite the dangers of any anti-vaccination propaganda.

But, all that said one of World Rugby's experts wrote this last year which is much more balanced and reasonable - and it appears that this sort of response has been utterly ignored...

http://sportsscientists.com/2016/03/banning-tackle-rugby-lesson-vs-z/

and if you want a response that is free from bias, then look at what the CMOs response was...

It's hard to see what if anything has changed, and why the CMO should reverse their decision.

Well that statement nearly as accurate as this idiot expert. (Sm6)

Can't believe that this research is given credibility by being published in the medical press.

Bl00dy predictive text! (Sm95)

CMO's response is pretty dismissive.
