Tigers have signed Ireland lock, Dan Tuohy, on loan from Bristol - a very useful acquisition IMO:

Good, decent short term cover

Very good. Though I was starting to wonder if we'd given up.

Not familiar as far as I can recall so will go with the joy above. But got to ask why not getting selected by Bristol and why are they willing to let him come and play for us?

Maybe a similar reason to letting Genge go ? Not that I know anything.

Bristol probably want to reduce their wage bill and squad size whilst they are in the Championship, without necessarily losing these players should they be promoted in the summer. They have done several similar loans to the Pro 14 and one to Quins (Ben Glyn, also a lock).

Good cover to acquire, particularly for Europe, but hope he sits below Maksymiw for the domestic games at least.

He picked up a injury in pre season and has only become avalible last week. We Bristol have alot of choice in the second row and yes i would of wanted him to start for us each and every weekend but he is 31 and Pat Lam wants to give the younger players a go and they have game time aswell.

Thanks both.

So we'll be getting him match fit then?

The regs for an injury dispensation signing say that the incoming player has to have the same or less experience than the injured player. Fairly broad term but I'd always understood that a clear distinction was made between capped and uncapped players.

Then again PRL haven't released this season's salary cap regulations so it could say anything now.

The pro 14 loans are correct but Ben Glynn is not on loan as he left Bristol in the summer.

We have good, young, cover in the back and 2nd row and as the others have said Pat Lam is giving the youngsters lots of game time. Sending the loan players out jis keeping them all match fit and apparently we can recall them at any time.

No, very quiet on the western front here. If Joe is out too then this is a much needed signing. We haven't gone for a lock on the bench yet but I don't know how much of that is tactics and how much down to injuries.

You'd think you'd want a lock on the bench for the Exeter game if we had one.
