Great kit but no sponsors on it?

Good to see the traditional kit with the letters and uncluttered by sponsors' logos.

Don't disagree but at a club where the day to day running costs are not covered by a sugar daddy so that every penny of income matters to help create/support a better team on the pitch, I'm surprised our commercial department haven't generated some sponsorship cash from this team, if only to cover some of its expenses?

We can`t get one of the stands sponsored, where there would be permanent TV exposure and publicity and so academy shirts sponsorship pails into insignificance.

Actually very little TV exposure as the cameras are mainly on that side of the pitch. That is the main issue.

But the teams do run out from that side of the pitch plus the benches are there. So that stand will get seen as much as the end ones.

Always a camera sat at the end of the A&L stand?

Most of the TV coverage is of the Crumbie , TV interviews are invariably done in front of it , pre match tv background by BT sport is of the Crumbie terrace , they interview the crowd in the Crumbie terrace, the zoomed shots of the players bench , of the coaches bench, the pitch side in match interview is in front the Crumbie with the stand as a back drop. But we shouldnt have to identify that ,thats whAt the marketing team are for , if they cannot "sell" the sponsorship of that stand question do need to be asked.

Perhaps look again, lots of shots of people on the Crumbie side, but no pictures of the upper stand, or stand sponsors boards, except those next to the pitch, which are not the stands sponsors. The shots are nearly all close ups of people.
During an average game I doubt that the Stand Sponsors name is shown more that a handful of times, and even then only for a few seconds.
Even the interviews in front of the Crumbie stand, the cameras point away from it not at it.

So the Commercial team have sold the wrong deal?

Not that I agree with your summation, but I was told a while ago that a single name on a stand brought in a load more cash than selling a stand piecemeal. So why do we have a pitch side sponsor but no-one for the stand behind? This stand is seen on tv as much as the others. And it ain't all about tv! (Mostly perhaps but not all.)

Looking at Exeter's ground the other week, they do have an impressive collection of pitch side advertising hoardings. OK, not a lot of local competition but if you can't sell the whole stand then maybe the multiple advertisor route is one to consider?

Classic nonsense here taking away from what was a very successful U18 campaign this year showing a positive shift in the club's efforts with the Academy, signs of some very talented young players coming through and shifting it immediately onto criticism of there being no shirt sponsorship for a series of games with no TV coverage.

or just the flow of conversation.

Maybe we should have rules as to what we can and can't discuss?

Of course there's no irony in the someone bemoaning a thread taking a different direction while taking the thread in a different direction.

It's a discussion board ffs.

Plenty of congrats on the win on a previous thread.

The one thing not highlighted is Ant Allen's success as the coach? Or does someone else coach them with AA taking an overview?

THE GOOD
The running on and off the ball
The shirts with the letters on (we really should have told them to get stuffed
there)
The Glaws. youngsters not giving up

THE BAD
Well, nothing really.

THE UGLY
Nice to see a bit of 'up the jumper' stuff

Very well done
