Looks like Dan is out of favour with England, feel for him, but it does mean he'll be available for us in November.

The big boost is really that he'll be rested in the Prem Cup games and therefore top fitness for the Champions Cup. Also means that we don't have to worry about resting him in any Prem games probably until around Christmas.

Manu selected is a good boost for him, does mean he's probably guaranteed to be injured this weekend though! Almost worth putting him on the bench with Toomua and Owen in the centres just to be cautious as Eddie will likely work him too hard.

Good call re Manu, and bench, do worry about bringing Toomua straight in though.

Very surprised Cips is left out, probably due to the Jersey incident.

Jones knows what Dan brings, he may or may not have decided "not enough" or he may be testing others and resting the known quantity

Dan was jaded at the end of last season, it was right to rest him over the summer. Not sure you could say the props selected offer as much in the scrum, maybe its a move to ball carriers over scrummagers.

Glad Cole is rested, he's been maxed out by Tigers and England for the best part of a decade at this point. I suspect he will, barring a catastrophic loss of form, be in the mix for the 6N and RWC still, especially if any of the others don't perform. I think Youngs could do with a rest too personally, but Care has showed he is best off the bench and Robson sadly hasn't got enough experience yet.

Hughes and Rhodes are joke selections. Hughes is a shadow of his former self at club level and has never cut the mustard at international level, and Rhodes is a 30 year-old journeyman, who never starts when Sarries have a fit back row.

Sorry to correct you Brownian but Rhodes would be on every Saracens fans list as a starter when fit.
We really struggled last year till he came back and steadied the back row. He quietly goes about making a nuisance of himself at every breakdown.

With 9 in the England squad plus injuries and other international call ups we could be about 14 first team players missing for the AI's. And we get to play you twice in that window!

Disagree about Rhodes, when he plays Sarries really perform at their best.

Don't like the residency rule though.

No Glaws players at all in that squad? And not as many from Exeter as you might expect looking at their place on top of the Prem.

Thought Edward was pushing it a bit when he said George was playing better than Cips. but perhaps he was referring to the team cohesion thingy.

And several in the squad who have yet to play this season!
