Thought it was flaming amazing! Very British.
Viewed from almost as far away as you could get from London and remain in civilisation (sorry Kaipoi, Kiwi etc) it was certainly amazing and some truly amazing moments from the pastoral to the industrial scenes through the Queen's sense of humour and her participation with Daniel Craig, Mr Bean (bloody brilliant) etc. Well done London! BUT 'Very British'? I suppose if you have bought into the propaganda of multiculturalism it was - very
- even the two young lovers and her household were mixed marriage, mixed race and black. To see so many carefully chosen politically correct images (EG. the black industrialists) throughout the show rather coloured the whole thing for me, pun intended. Had it been a celebration of multicultural London then that would have been very understandable, although there seemed a lack of chinese and East Asian representation. As for 'Abide With Me' and that accompanying dance, surely that was inappropriate in a night celebrating athleticism and life?
