Great to see the three Fijian's who are on trial at Franklins Gardens yesterday wearing thier tabards and supporting the team.

Hopefully Edward G will read this, but they were a credit to themselves and I know i'm in no position to say what the club should do, but talking to them they all seemed really nice chaps who are eager to get in the squad next season.

I hope we sign all three tbh.

Michael Owen is going to back next season, but after the last two years it could be very useful to have a big fijian number 8 in position should we have an injury.

With Alex Goode moving upto Flyhalf it could be useful to have a backup to Wyles with Kameli's young brother would provide.

The flanker (forget his name) would also be a good signing. Kelly Brown will be missing a fair bit of the season and as a result it would be useful to have someone to rotate with Burger, Melck and Saull

The Fiji Times
Iliesa Keresoni, Kameli Ratuvou's brother, is a 23-year-old wing and Asaeli Boko and Samuela Bolatagane are both forwards. The trio are available to play for the Storm team and Venter is also looking at other trialists on the wing.
Venter said: "We want to see if they will fit in to the environment. We're just planning our recruitment for next season. If you do not explore the market then you will miss out on finding some gems.

"In the past, Saracens have been good at spending a lot of money in an attempt to get a quick fix. But we are trying to go down a different route of developing young players through the academy."

I'll echo that, didn't speak to them but saw them at the ground with their tabards on.

Hoefully all three will sign next season. Hopefully a really good winger as well!!

Looks like their first game will be at Bramley Road against the Army. Hope they do themsleves justice, we could really do with a couple of new faces to the squad

That's novel ......... Fijians playing against the Army. I thought the Army were Fijians plus one token white officer.

Has anyone actually seen them play, or is the desire to sign them based on the fact that they seemed decent sort of chaps over a beer?

I haven't seen them play but if the fact that they're trialling with us shows up in the Fijian national newspaper then they can't be that bad can they?

No I just wondered if Mc Saracen and TNT had actually seen them play, or even watched them in training prior to reaching their conclusion, no one else seems to know much about them.

No not at all Boomer, I know nothing, I just wondered what evidence the positive vibes are based on, i kinda like "evidence based" rather than "passion" is that negative.

I don't buy that one minute WD.

Your two questions have a clear negative and mocking slant to them with a thin veneer of naivety to disguise your agenda.

Being given a trial at all and being nationally recognised back in Fiji should be evidence enough to trust that they're good players with potential but I see your point WD.

I'd like to see them play and pass judgement myself but until then I'll trust that Dr.V knows what he's doing.

I dont disagree with that Utility Wible but the fitst two posts have moved well beyond that and stated we should sign them, when from what little I can see or know the trial has yet to begin. And yes Boomer I own up, simply sounnds like a ruse from Mc Saracen to add a couple of new and complicated names to his ever expanding twice weekly lists.

And of course more difficulties for away announcers when substitutions are made

The Saints' announcer couldn't cope with our replacement hooker, Wry Neck, on Saturday.
