Sarries Sale through choppy waters

Thanks Jeremy

Having made the journey to the frozen north there was absolutely no atmosphere at the A J Bell and it was like watching paint dry until the incident with the Farrell "late" tackle on about 70 minutes which seemed to get the crowd going and with that, Sarries also woke up!

I also have to say that the few Sarries' fans who made the trip were more vocal than the 6,000 odd Sharks' fans and the verbal abuse our team got was not pleasant! Even before the Farrell incident they made every attempt to put him off his kicking (not that I think that's why he missed the 2 sitters) with loud shouts of "miss it" and at one stage someone was waving a load of red fairly lights right in his eye line.

The 2 guys in front of us who appeared to be football fans stood up every time Sale got the ball which was intensely irritating.

Sadly I don't think Little DG and I will be making a return visit any time soon!

Thanks for the write up - and glad the glasses of wine assisted the second half

Sale's defence in the first half particularly was very much in the Sarries mound. Sadly our attacking play was pretty poor, Owen had an off day even without the kicking.
Charnley looked a threat, although this diminished as he always seemed to want to cut back inside and became rather predictable.
Where we sat the atmosphere was pretty good, most of the Sale fans were feeling a bit aggrieved before the Faz/Iaone incident and completely lost the plot thereafter.
The big worry was seeing Brad in a protective boot after the game and looking very uncomfortable.

The first half had me reaching for the bottle!
