Well I for one agree with him... a cracking atmosphere...

Director of rugby Mark McCall praised Saracens’ fans for their support in Saturday’s 13-13 draw against Exeter Chiefs.
After losing prop Richard Barrington to a red card after 11 minutes Sarries battled from 10-0 down to draw the game. After the game, McCall paid tribute to the fans' role in helping the team at a sold-out Allianz Park.

“Since we moved to Allianz Park four years ago, that was best atmosphere we’ve played in at home. The fans really got behind the team and the place was rocking throughout the game - I think it played a huge part for us battling back to get the two points.”

McCall added: “We’re really grateful for the fantastic support. It’s been great playing in front of packed houses recently and the fans’ support is something that when we harness it, can drive on the team.”

Saracens captain Brad Barritt also paid tribute to Saracens fans: “Saturday’s atmosphere was unbelievable and I’d like to thank the Saracens fans on behalf of all the squad for their backing when we really needed it. The noise was the loudest we’ve experienced at Allianz Park and as a player, it can lift you.

“We’ve a tough run of games coming up and we’ll need that support once again on the road against Scarlets, and at home against Toulon.”

it was obvious after the game the players appreciated the support. normally they make a fuss of their families in the corner of the East stand and do a few token waves along the East stand before turning back; it almost seems like a chore

Saturday they sped by their families to praise the East stand - lost of clapping and waving and very pleased faces on the pitch

This is a really nice touch from the club.Classy in fact.it's really nice to know that it was noticed and to think it may have had an effect is flattering in the extreme.

We are pretty sedate lot usually but I loved Saturday not least because we were roaring our team on and some of us were foaming at the mouth. We not usually like that.

The irony is that it seemed to me that we were wound up to get off our middle-class backsides stand up and shout at the ref. Most people near me thought he was having a mare.

And in the main he wasn't.

And if that off-the-cuff "analysis"is right. I'm not sure that we can expect to provide that level of support again which is a terrible shame

I would love us to be like the Clermont supporters who came to vicarage Road not far short of 10 years ago now for a quarter-final in the old Heineken cup.

People of all ages standing up singing, shouting and waving flags. The 80 minutes.

There was a bloke behind us who was about 70 and I was waiting for him to have a coronary but he never did.

Wish we could support like that.
