Not great news as I expect he was due to start the season for us to give Maro & George a rest. Hope it heals quickly

I'm guessing the arm will take around 4-6 weeks to heal unless it's really bad. Realistically, with Super Rugby finishing July 15th for him, and him missing an off season break at the start of their season due to being with us, I would imagine he'd need a few weeks extra of holiday anyway, probably making it unlikely that he'd be up to speed by the start of the season anyway. I guess that Day will arrive August too, although he has played a lot less rugby in the last year so may need less recovery time. I think it's likely that Nick is going to start a few games with George and Maro back to training late August with their contracted 5 weeks off.

Let's hope he gets conditioning advice from our guys, while he recuperates, and doesn't regress to his previous Australian diet. Otherwise, he won't be fit until Xmas!

The Aussie Daily Telegraph reports it as a broken thumb with a 6-8 week recovery window.

Recent reports in Aus suggest he maintained his fitness levels - he was injured playing club rugby seemingly to maintain his match fitness - so once healed should be good to go.

Edit - and Day is also injured and unavailable for the Rebels this Friday, sounds like his rehab has been longer than expected so hopefully he'll also be fit soon...

I saw that it was quoted as thumb on one site and arm on Rugby.com.au. It looks like a lower arm cast in the photo, so hopefully less time, but it is what it is, I guess. Seems like players dropping like flies for lots of teams this summer, I can't see a longer playing calendar helping with that.

Looks like Nick Isiekwe will be featured early season then, which is fantastic news for him, I wish both Day and Skelton all the best in their recovery
