Thought I would make an attempt to review the overall contribution of our lads to the success of the tour down under. Please feel free to disagree, as I am sure you will

Kruis: Great in the lineout, however a couple of uncharacteristic fumbles-did effect his overall impact (6.0)

George: made a major contribution in all 3 tests, surely must have cemented his place in the England set-up leading to 2019. A couple of wayward throws to the back of the lineout plus a rare missed hook in the scrum have not dented his growing reputation (7.0)

Mako: A couple of wobbles in the scrum against Franks and the lack of discipline in the 2nd Test did count against him, however his defence and carrying in the loose together with a good scrummaging display in in test 3 consolidated his reputation as one of the finest props in the world currently (7.5)

Maro: A bit of excitability in early tests does not detract from an excellent showing, his prowess in the lineout, as a turnover specialist,as a carrier etc etc etc. It is so easy to forget his age. World class (8.5)

Farrell: Continual swapping from 10 to 12 did not help the quality of his play, some sublime distribution coupled with some missed tackles and poor passes, let him down. A very good tour but not consistent enough for the highest accolade, apart from his brilliant goal kicking under intense pressure. (8.0)

I'm afraid you missed one... Liam Williams. he ia classed as a Sarries man now! After shaky start he came into his own towards the end of the tour, always looking to counter and that footwork and pace for possibly try of the tournament was excellent, a couple of handling errors his only real negative so overall I'd give him 7.0

was interesting that Geech in the Torygraph was saying that the Lions had used a more expansive improved breakdown process as the series progessed.

As we contributed a big chunk of the breakdown specialists (I noticed that Sarries guys were probably doing more close defence as a group than other players) it will do no harm to the club for that to be propagated around

With other clubs only contributing one or two forwards each - not sure they will end up using it
