33' Try Sale. Ben Curry is in for the hosts. Sarries will be disappointed with that one as the lineout fails and Curry swoops on the loose ball for the easiest of finishes. MacGinty converts

34' Charge down from @SkeltonWilliam and the big-an regathers the ball. Sale then cynically stray offside and fly-half MacGinty is yellow carded. Malins lands the penalty

51' Try Sale. Tarus powers over from close-range for the hosts and they now have the lead. MacGinty fails to convert from outwide.

Thanks for the updates, nice to know that even with no national football BBC Manchester couldn't be arsed to do coverage

70' Try Sale, A clever McGuigan grubber causes havoc in the Sarries backfield and it's Mike Haley who is the scorer. Kick to come

71' MacGinty can't land the conversion as @alicrossdale races away to spoil the kick. Ref says play on. Clever work from the Sarries wing.

78' Sarries have a penalty in the Sale half. Malins sends the ball into touch but the lineout throw is wayward and a scrum is called to Sale.

Pretty wet evening and got more scrappy in the second half, possibly due to the conditions. Defensive and attacking shapes looked good in the first half - just a couple of dropped balls stopping some nice attacking moves. Biggest problem was decision making and execution in exiting the 22 - Ben Earl and Tom Whiteley have to take some responsibility for this.

Second half the defence wasn't as good, and we suffered from being short of possession. Negatives were McElroy looking like he needs lots more throwing practice (hence the above), Gallagher never looking dangerous when he got the ball, big Billy Walker struggling in the scrums (albeit he didn't have Skelton behind him at the time), and Ellery looking like a rabbit in headlights when he got the ball in his hands. Positives were Spencer looking different class, Nay looking like a useful big lump, Ellery's aggressiveness in defence, Baz putting in a stormer, and Earle looking quality the few times he got the ball in his hands or to chase a decent kick.

And Skelton spent much of the time looking like he accidentally got involved in a schoolboys match!

Any chance you could expand on this a bit and give us a match report????

Saints beat Dragons 41-7 in their game scoring 6 tries. They now top our table with 6 points to our 2. Given that tries scored are now the tie-breaker (after pool points) I would say we are pretty much out of this competition, so when it resumes at the sharp end of the season I would expect an even more 'developmental' squad for the remaining matches.

I think we have learnt from last year when we had lots of injuries & our squad players were as knackered as first teamers by end of season
Seems like to target league & champions cup you have to play more youngsters in AW so all main squad is well rested
If that is direction we are taking thats fair enough!

Double Champions of Europe,we know who we are!! smiling smiley

Think that's actually underthrown...Sarries (and many other teams to be fair) use that as an exit lineout due to the 5m headstart you have on your own line. Do have to clear the players in the first 15 metres though...
