Glenda as ref

I thought Glen Jackson lately of this parish had a pretty good game reffing the England /Argentina game.he seemed to be prepared to take decisions based on his own assessment of what he saw rather than rely on his officials. Only reverted to the TMO when he had no choice

Wasn't he reffing the Wales v Australia game, Gerry?

It was the South African, Marcus van den Westhuizen, who was the ref for England v Argentina, who I personally didn't think had a good game.

Poor yellow for the player competing with Mike Brown for the high ball.

Was the tmo used? I can't remember. I wonder what their input was as the player had his eye on the ball and a reasonable chance of competing for it.

The TMO was used, and like you didn't think it was a yellow.Between them thought they came to the wrong conclusion. Not only did the player have a chance of competing, Very briefly he actually had his hands on the ball. Also thought both teams slowed the ball down far to much, without being penalised.Still, can't change anything, onwards and upwards.

I thought Glenda was very good , loved it when he told the Aussie scrum half to get up and play the ball when he was trying to milk a penalty.

Rapidly becoming one of the top refs in the world without all "the look at me attitude" that some refs have.

Still remember the last ten minutes of the 'home' game v Bath at Franklins Gardens. Just off the plane, half jet lagged and got us a losing bonus point almost all on his own
