Travelling to Clermont

Hi all, newcomer to the forum here!

I have a ticket to Clermont away and had a few questions about how everyone was getting there. I am currently planning on flying out to Lyon and then taking the train up to Clermont. Just wanted to know from people who have done the journey before if it is the best way to get there?

Also, does anyone know when we will get our tickets? I am slightly reluctant to book flights and accommodation before tickets have arrived.

Cheers all!

CQ

I am flying to Clermont airport (via Paris) so canīt help with the Lyon trains specifically, but there is another thread on this started today where someone is looking for people to share a car hire from Lyon airport with.

Having looked into times and prices I am taking a bus from Lyon to Clermont. It takes half the tim and is only 5 euros each way. Never done it before but seems easy enough.

Ah interesting - do you know how long the bus takes to get from Lyon to Clermont? I think the train was about 2hr 30mins.

2h23 by train (if direct one).

2h by Car.

2h30 by bus I guess.

I couldn't find any direct rains to match my arrival time,so I believe the time for the train was over 4hrs hence the coach.

Hi Christmas quin,
what time do you arrive in Lyon ?

Hi! My flight lands in Lyon at 10:55 on Thursday. I then plan on spending taking the train to Clermont that afternoon.

I plan on spending Friday and Saturday exploring the local area. Any tips on great things to do in Clermont? I have been told it's a beautiful city.

By car, it takes about two hours, it's up to you.
Be carefull, it will be cold in Clermont, and there is snow in the area.

Take some time in the medieval quarter of Montferrand, where is located stade Michelin.
